Tried to do a search but couldn't find the answer. How well does Teppan Edo cater to picky eaters? My kids and I like certain Asian foods but we are all really picky when it comes to vegetables. I'm afraid I'd offend the chef if I asked them to leave certain veggies out. I think we'd enjoy the experience but maybe not the food. Any thoughts?

Your veggie choices are onion, mushroom and zucchini when ordered with the steak or chicken type udon noodle meals. I actually just wanted zucchini, and it wasn't a problem. My kids just didn't eat that part, so they had the chicken and noodles (they are picky too!). I'm guessing you could just do meat and noodles if necessary.
You can order the meal any way you'd like to, and the chefs really don't seem to mind. Just be sure to tell them right away so they can cook each order separately.
One more tip if you are using the DDP...get the chocolate ginger cake. SO good :thumbsup2. The green tea pudding, on the other hand, tasted like green slime imho!! :scared1:

My DH doesn't like veggies and the chef at Teppan Edo just gave me extra veggies. Not a problem at all!!

we have a similar restaurant here were I live and I always ask for no onions. It doesnt seem to be a big deal they just cook my veggies off to the side on the big habachi grill.

Hope this helps :)

The green tea pudding, on the other hand, tasted like green slime imho!! :scared1:>>>>>> GASP!!!! Are you kidding?! The green tea pudding is one of the best desserts i've had in a long time!! Its tastes sooooooo good, not at all like green tea. And I normally hate anything green tea! I would highly recommend this dessert.

Anyway, my son isnt crazy about vegi's either. He just ate around the zuchinni and mushrooms, picked them out. Maybe your kids can do the same? But if the chef can make theirs without the vegis, then go for it. Doesnt hurt to ask right.

They cooked my DH's without mushrooms (another man at our table had the same request)

I just let them serve it how it comes for DD and she ate what she wanted. The rice is plain and in a separate bowl.

Unless the child really hates the veggie (like my DH hates mushrooms!) then the best chance of them trying something new is when they have seen it cooked in a fun way.

kids dessert option was just the ice cream.

I've ordered mine without the mushrooms a couple of times. Both times, I just told the person taking our order (not the chef), and it was no problem. They did ask if I had an allergy or just didn't like them.
