if i select this place i think i will go for the steak and chicken(or is shrimp better?)

Kids meal i see chicken is it plain or tereyaki?
what dessert comes with kids meal?

coral reef
I would get the steak and potatos

watcha all think. I would love opions on teppan edo and would love to see pics of the food and dessert. TIA!

:cool1: :hippie: Really liked both places, great NY strip at Coral Reef, had the steak and shrimp at Tepen Edo real good there is the entertainment at Edo with the chef preparing the meal at your table and you will be sitting at chairs around the chef, at least 8 chairs per table as yo will be sitting with others if there are not 8 in your party. If I had to choose maybe Coral Reef we have been there 3 times and every time had a great steak and Baileys and Jack Daniel's Mousse is the best dessert in the MK.

We liked both places as well. Both places are great for kids.

I prefer the steak and shrimp at Teppan Edo, because the chicken is white meat and I think it gets too dry.

The kid's chicken at Teppan Edo is also cooked in front of you, although, I think you can order chicken teriyaki. DD ordered chicken teriyaki with the sauce on the side last month at Tokyo Dining.

That is a hard one. I'd go to Teppan Edo for food or Coral Reef for atmosphere. But, having been to both, I'd choose Teppan Edo.

We love Teppan Edo, it is a must do on each trip for us. We usually go over DS's birthday and this is where he choices to have his birthday dinner. I get the steak and chicken and I love it. But I don't like shrimp
Without question, between the two I would choose Teppan Edo.
Have a Good Trip.

We love Tepan Edo. We had a great time. All three of us loved the food ( the clear winners were shrimp & beef). The serving staff was quite attentive and the chef was pretty funny. We can't wait to go back.
We've never really been a fan of Coral Reef. We've been many times - seems everytime we go with Disney Newbies, they always want to try CR. Yes, the "aquarium" is impressive but after a few minutes, a view is a view. Nothing really wrong with the food or service but nothing that wows me enough to return.

I haven't been to Coral Reef in years...can't even tell you why I dislike it anymore :)
But! Tepan Edo I LOVE. Granted, we have Habtchi places at home, but every time I go to one here, I'm left disappointed because I think, well, they could have done A, B, and C, because that's how they do it at Disney!! This place is great. And I'm such a picky eater because I have a sensitive stomach. Not once have I gotten sick here (I know everyone has different allergies, but for me, it's pretty great!) At some point I think I've had almost every meat (or fish) on the menu and I can't say I've been disappointed once!
Maybe that's why I haven't gone back to Coral Reef :)

I say Teppan Edo! We have been to both, and IMO Teppan Edo has much much better food, and it is a great place. We had wonderful service, and the lady chef we had was funny and entertaining. We do enjoy the tanks at CR, but find the food selection to be poor. It is also extremely loud at CR and service was just so so for our experiences there.

At Teppan Edo I ordered the shirmp and steak, it was delicious! I thought the portion size was good. For dessert I had some kind of fruit tart, it was ok, nothing spectacular.

Thanks everyone. I'm so hungry and some food from teppan edo would be soooooooooo good. I'm going to make a ressie. hopefully i get in.

We did both on our last trip in September. Both were very good, but we preferred Teppan Edo. We had the Nihonbashi (Steak and Chicken) and I found the steak better than even LeCellier (please, no flames). Very tender, very well seasoned. My kids loved the chicken and the show. I think my kids preferred Coral Reef, because of the aquarium.

I personally don't think you will be dissappointed in either.

Have a great trip!
