I'm going to be celebrating my b-day in EPCOT w/ DH, DD(9), DS(8) and my parents. I am deciding between Teppan Edo and Biergarten for my b-day dinner. I have never been to either. I'm leaning toward Teppan Edo because I thought it would be fun for the kids (and for me!) to have the chef cook in front of us but I thought I should ask people who have actually eaten at these restaurants. So what do you think?

I would pick Teppan Edo. Fun for the kids/family and good food.

We were at Teppan Edo last week and it was so much fun. I love the shrimp and steak. My son's filet was awesome.

We ate at both last week (DS 11 and I ). I would say Teppan Edo would be our pick. We liked the entertainment at Biergarten, but neither of us were impressed with the food. Teppan Edo was much better IMO. The only complaint I had at TE was our chef wasn't as fun as the one at the next table lol. We had a female chef named Yoko and she was almost too formal :confused3 The chef at the other table was really funny though, and our whole table ended up watching him.

I would recommend Biergarten. Both places are entertaining and have good food so either should work for your birthday. My recommendation is based on the fact 1) I like Biergarten a little better and 2) good Teppan-yaki style restaurants are pretty easy to come by anywheere in the US it seems, but good German food with entertainment is not. My kids love one the teppan-yaki restaurants near our house and we go frequently which may help explain reason number 1.

Def Biergarten, killer food and a live band, dancing and great atmosphere. We can get better hibachi locally so we prefer to branch out at WDW

I agree with Hootch. Good German food is very hard to come by these days, and Biergarten definitely has GREAT German food! And there really is something for everyone there, including children's choices. Can't beat the entertainment either! We have plenty of hibachi restaurants by us that are great and we can go anytime. There is only one German restaurant we go to here and it is wonderful, but we don't go often at all, and there is no entertainment like at Biergarten. We are definitely going back to Biergarten next trip, we loved it so much!!

Both are good but each has a unique atmosphere so it's more what you're in the mood for. I can get good Chinese food cooked in front of me at home, and I can get REALLY good German food at home as well. So for us it comes down to atmosphere above all else.

For a "party" atmosphere, the Biergarten is a better choice - I mean, you can dance and drink really big mugs of beer. I can't think of a better way to celebrate...

We enjoyed Teppan Edo, but also had a chef who was not very "entertaining". The food was fine and my kids enjoyed watching the chef cook for a while, but they definitely preferred the Biergarten. On our next trip to celebrate my parents' 40th anniversary, we will be hitting the dance floor in Germany.

Thanks everyone for your input. Really hard to decide especially since I don't know any hibachi style restaurants or German restaurants near where I live. One question - what exactly is the entertainment at Biergarten? Thanks again.

Eventhough Biergarten is our family's favorite place to eat, I would pick Teppan Edo. It just looks like so much fun. I would still go to Biergarten and eat if you can fit it into your trip.

Biergarten was our favorite pick from last year and are super excited to return again in May. The food was very authentic and the servers were really nice. This time I booked when there will be entertainment. Can't wait :cool1:

Never been to Biergarten going in Aug. Teppen Edo no ? it's a must do every trip. It's good food & fun . Love this place:cool1:
