Teppan Edo on Epcot Day

Okay, I didn't know if this was the right place to post this so here it goes.

The only restaurant I was interested in snagging at Epcot was Teppan Edo. But alas, there's not a reservation for the day we're going to be at Epcot, which is fine as I know reservations are hard to come by.

I also know there's Flower and Garden going on while we're there in June. My question is with all the different foods at the festival on top of quick service, is table service for Epcot necessary?

My two cents: TS at Epcot is never necessary because of all the food booths and QS, but they do have some good TS restaurants, including Teppan Edo, so I totally understand why people book them. During F&G or F&W, there is even less need for TS, but again, it's what your preference is. I have always had luck getting whatever reservation I want by searching the day before or day of, but with the caveat that that was pre-COVID. I'll see for myself if that still works in about 6 weeks.

It really depends on your preference and makeup of your party.

There are plenty of food options at the booths (and it's by and large, very good!); eating at the booths isn't cheap and is done while grazing (well, standing in line, getting food, finding a corner to eat, moving to the next booth). There is also very, very little shade in WS near the booths.

For us, we have a toddler that does better with an actual meal. We do better taking a break in the air-conditioning. Financially we do better with a meal vs the booths. If there is an item or two we really want to try at a booth, we might grab it mid-afternoon for a snack or for dessert.

Pre-kids, we would eat one meal at a table service during the hottest part of the day and the other meal would be grazing.

Reservations do open up a lot the days prior (esp night before!) and I do wonder if June will bump the capacity a bit more with restaurants.
