Teppan Edo - MSG?

Hi there,

I just made a reservation for lunch at Teppan Edo... thinking that my kids would like the "cook at the table" idea. Question tho -- do they use MSG in their foods? Monsodium Glutamate...a flavor enhancer used widely in Asian cooking.

My parents are going with us and my mom is very, very allergic to it. I would hate to get there and then have her stuck without being able to eat.

Anybody know?

Not sure if they normally use MSG at TE but I don't think so.

However, You should note your allergy to MSG on your reservation. When you get seated be sure your chef also knows about it. If they do use MSG normally, they will cook your Mom's meal first and then do the rest of the party so there is no chance of cross contamination.

I don't think they do, it something that bothers me and I didn't have any reaction to the food. I actually thought the food was good but a little bland.

Thank you. I actually was reading some of the reviews and I wasn't that impressed. The prices are quite high and I'm not sure if I want to spend that much money for something that is just....blah.

So I changed it to Nine Dragons...which on the Disboards link says no MSG used. Of course we will double check but I like that the ND menu has a ton of options and think that we would enjoy that more.

I saw where there was an option to note special dietary requests on the dining res but when you click "other" there is no where to type in what your "other" need is

None of the restaurants at Disney use MSG--I know, I'm one of those people who can't tolerate it --at all, not even a tiny bit. I've been going to Disney for over 50 visits and never had a problem-I've also checked with dietary staff and was informed that MSG is not used.
