Has anyone ate there before? We made lunch reservations and heard alot about the place. Looks like it will be fun for the boys to see them cook in front of you.

Let me know!

I've eaten there a few times and have never been dissappointed. The food is good and the "show" the Teppanyaki Chefs put on while making the meal is fun to watch. You and your boys will enjoy it. However, remember that you will be sitting at the grill/table with other people (the tables seat 8).

this might be a silly question, but when they are done cooking your food does the cook walk away i was just wondering if your having your meal in front of them lol just curious

We totally  Teppan Edo! The food and show are great! It's a must do for us every trip! Yes the chef will start serving you while he/she is still cooking but then once he/she has finished everything they work on cleaning up the grill a bit and will stand around and talk with you but then will leave. You have different wait staff getting your drinks and bringing out desserts.

He cleans up his area then goes.
One thing I found about about this place though, was how NOISY it was. I think it has to do with the exhaust fans over the cooking areas, but boy-o-boy I found it hard to make out anything anybody said. Food was alright though!

Teppan Edo is a fun place, especially if you aren't too familiar with hibachi-style dining. It's not much more than a glorified Benihana, but that's not a bad thing. The food is safe and simple, which makes it a good choice for groups with children, and everyone typically enjoys the entertainment. The chefs put on a good show.

It is a good time...my DW and I have been a few times and plan on taking the kids next time. Good food and good fun.

We also had a good time (2 weeks ago now).

If the chef cannot prepare all the food at the same time (in our case, we had one all-veggie dish), then some of the food will be served before the second round is prepared. After all the food is prepared, the chef will clean up and leave (after perhaps a little more entertainment).

We ate there in March 2009. It was good! Locally, we go to Shogun (a national chain) and it's our DD10's favorite local restaurant. I would say there were a couple things at Teppen Edo I found either disappointing or interesting.

  • Steak is not on the kids' menus. I know chicken was & I think a seafood item. My DD was disappointed & ate most of my steak.
  • Teppen Edo has different drinks & sugar substitutes than the general WDW restaurants. It's because they are not a Disney operated facility. I guess it's rented out. But I commented that I saw a different sweetner than the rest of the parks (think it was Sweet & Low) and was given that explanation. :confused3

It is noisy - as a previous post said. But it's good! Enjoy!

We have eaten at Teppan Edo. But we have also eaten at several Japanese Steak houses and quite honestly, I didnt think it was as good as some other places we have been to. But that being said, if you have never done it it is definately a MUST DO. My kids, DD 7 and DS 3 LOVE going. They think the cooks are so amazing and very fun to watch. hope you have a good time.
