I have 8:20 ADR at Teppan Edo on the night we arrive at WDW. Will we be done eating in time for Illuminations at 9:30? Is there somewhere close by that we can get a good view of Illuminations?

This is our first night at WDW this trip, Our flight got moved around and now we don't arrive at the airport until 5 PM. I'm guessing ME will have us to BC by 6:30 or so. I feel fortunate that I was able to get a later ADR, but I was really looking forward to Illuminations and a peaceful stroll back to our room at BC. Now I am starting to worry that there won't be enough time to eat before the fireworks. We get to see Illuminations on our last night in the parks, so now I am trying to decide if we can't finish in time, isTeppan Edo worth missing Illuminations?

TIA for sharing your experiences at Teppan Edo!

Depending on when you get seated wich could be 10-15 mins if they are busy, I don't think there will be enough time to finish and see the fireworks in roughly an hour. Last time we ate there it was at least a 90 minute affair. Remember at this dinner they will be making the food right at the table and the guy will be putting on a show for you sorta with flipping the utensils etc. I would either plan on an earlier adr or seeing the fireworks show on another night. When I do TS resturants I usually plan on 2 hrs so that way we are not rushed and can take our time and enjoy the meal fully.

It depends. You may be fine at 8:20 if they're on time with reservations. You definitely can eat within an hour and Illuminations can be seen from anywhere around World Showcase. In fact, you can even watch from outside Teppan Edo (before you go down the stairs and if it's not already crowded). But you definitely need to be out there for the beginning of Illum. - because I think the first 2 minutes is just as fabulous as the last 2 minutes!!!

Is Teppan Edo worth missing Illuminations? In my opinion - no. It's just as good as any hibachi style restaurant you have at home (we have 2 here where I live in NJ). If you want a leisurely dinner, watch Illuminations and a nice stroll back to your hotel, I would either find another TS place to eat in World Showcase or around the Y/B or Boardwalk or just do counter service and save your TS ticket for breakfast or another meal (if you're on the DDP).
