Tents on premium or preferred sites

Going to the fort in June 2016 with travel trailer. On these sites is there room or a place for a tent? Thinking of kicking kids outside in a tent. Also, would it be to warm at night for sleeping in a tent comfortably?

Any help appreciated.

I believe on most of the prefered sites you can probably still fit in a tent. The premium sites have larger asphalt pads so there really isn't anywhere to stake one down at necessarily plus there's no sand pad for water to drain if(when) it rains (not to say you couldn't but just to keep in mind.) The full hookup sites you definitely can as they have room to stake one into the sand.

June isn't as hot as July/August but it's definitely going to be hot. Definitely would want some fans.

Bishoparc is correct about the premiums not having a sandpad. You can put a tent, depending on the camper size. You might get lucky enough to land a premium site with a piece of open grass/dirt off the side of the pad, but these are few and far between.

As long as you are okay with not being able to stake the tent down (you could use something inside the tent in the 4 corners for weigh it down) you should be able to pull it off.

If you happen to stay in the shade, you 'may' be able to get by with fans - we couldn't - would have to have AC. As a deep south girl, don't see much difference in heat/humidity in the summer months - in fact, it starts to build up as early as April.

As for tent room, pp's have answered that question.
