So while I am not new to campground camping or DW (only went as a teenager) It is a new experience for me as an adult with my own family so I have a few questions.

1) Has anyone tried tent camping at FW with a 2 year old or even younger, and what was it like? (i am planning on only being there to sleep)

2) Am I the only one crazy enough to start planning a Disney trip 2 years in advance? (before the 2nd child is even born)

3) We are looking at tent camping so we can spend more time at Disney what is the longest amount of time you would recommend? (I am looking at 7 to 10 days)

4) What months would you recommend for camping in, We live in Arkansas and I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast so we are used to humidity and warmer weather, not so much used to the cold.

5) So I remember this amazing first view of the castle from a boat when we went in 2003. I am thinking it was the shuttle boat from FW to MK, does anyone know if I am remembering correctly, because I would love for this to be my kids first view of the castle.

Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

baby slept in pack and play -- Ft. Wilderness provided it

I put the stroller inside the tent so baby was contained when I was getting ready.

I didn't cook (I was alone with DS 2 1/2 and just turning 3 years old) for either trip.

I went in August and Oct/Nov -- it was very hot.

I would go during cooler weather and low crowds.

It wasn't at FW, but we camped when they were infants. I second the Pack and Play. Also, I had a seat that clamped onto the picnic table and made a high chair. Once we camped where there was no swimming when my cousin's baby was about a year old. When it got hot, we filled a 5-gallon bucket with water and he would stand in it and hold onto the rim and dip down to his nose, then pop back up again and laugh and laugh. Good memories!

so a pack in play is a must, funny my mom said the same thing when I ran my idea by her. We are now debating going Oct. 2014 so I don't have to worry about working around school schedules since my oldest will be start Kindergarten in 2015, Which will make the youngest about 14 months old. Plus neither me nor my DH have ever been in the fall.

Thanks for all the input so far, keep it coming. :goodvibes

The baby will be climbing by then, so you might want to position your sleeping area so he/she will have to crawl over you to get out the door. That way you would wake up before the little darlin' escapes.
