Tent Camping with Dog?

So we just bought Aps I grew up camping at the fort...literally I've been 100+ times with the longest being 14 days. We were always in a RV.

So now married... looking to tent camp quite bit. What do you think of taking our non yippy chihuahua and while we're in the parks putting him in a little travel kennel? (he sleeps in it here at the house so he likes it. )



I thought we could plug in a little fan and put it facing him inside the tent just in case he gets too hot. Any ideas? And when is the Fort only 42 a night every date we've chosen it is more than a value

The rules say no pets in tents, but the Kennel is near. We used to put ours in the Kennel but we now have a 5th Wheel.

Actually, the rule is no "unattended" pets in tents. They need to be kenneled during the day when you are away from the site, but can spend the night with you in the tent.

Also, loop 1500 and 2000 are not pet loops, so you will need to reserve a pet loop. The charge is $5.00 per day.

No unattended pets in tents... and, no pets in partial hook-up loops (since neither of them is a pet-designated loop). You would need to get a full-hookup pet loop (1600 only?), or a preferred or premium pet loop (many options), and to board your pet at the kennel when you are away. Pets may only be left unattended in hard-sided RVs; not tents, pop-ups, or cars/trucks (per FL law).

No matter what the weather tents can get very, very hot and stuffy during the day. I personally do not feel comfortable inside a tent during the day, too hot. I absolutely would not leave my dog in a tent. It would be horrible if something happened to him/her due to heat exposure.
