Tent camping in October?

Hi all,
My Dh and I are planning a trip in May but might have to postpone. We would love to tent camp but don't know about how well we would be able to do this the last week of October. Has anyone done this? How is the weather?

Weather can be favorable, but sometimes rainy. There's a lot going on there during Halloween time and special treats. There's a special campfire for that night with pumkin carving contest and extra goodies passed out. Sometimes kids go trick or treating from campsite to campsite. Definatly decorate if your going to be a week or longer, or cause you like to. They do sell pumpkins there at the fort.
I stay every year on Halloween, usual only for 2 nights though. I like to be in the middle of it all at the festive times.

Weather is really good at that time of year. It can still be warm during the day, but the nights are cooler. It is our favorite time to go. Last October was the only trip we have had rain every day we were there. It was a fluke, just too many weather systems all hitting us at the same time. Most years it it just beautiful. I think it would be better than May temperature wise. JMO

We camped in a tent in October a while back and it was very pleasant. Weather Channel shows averages the last week of October as high/82 and low/62. We did get a shower while we were there but it was fine. They usually give nightly Haunted Hayrides down at Pioneer Hall every year that is worth the cost. I think it has changed slightly but we encountered the Headless Horseman while on our ride out on the Swamp Trail but the effect was pretty good. The campfires and sing-along is very pleasant too.
