Hi! Can someone tell me if it is a good time to go camp in a tent early to mid march? Thank you!

It can be chilly at night. We did it in 2008 and are planning to do it again in 2012. This time, we're bringing electric blankets. Other than that, it's a great time to camp!

thank you! Do you know if there is ever discount for annual pass holders for the campground? I just look at the prices for march, 76$ for tent site:scared1:

We never camp at DW before but I'm sure we will love it, hopefully at lower price!:)

Unfortunately, March is very busy (Spring Break). That's why it's so expensive. I don't know if an AP discount is offered but it might be worth asking. I've scored AAA discounts -- before but none were available for our last spring trip. Again, I think it was just a high demand time.

Yes, it's one of the most expensive times to camp at the Fort but the reason is the crowds (spring break) and the weather is very comfortable for tent camping. Book a ressie early and enjoy it!

how about february, is it too cold?

depends on what you call too cold ? :confused3
after all , it's Florida. I wouldn't consider tent camping in Minnesota in Feb. (but thats just me), BUT Florida is another story.

It could be 40, 32, or even 80 degrees. You never know its Florida. I've seen it freeze in December, January and February. These are the freeze months. March is generally not in the freeze zone for FL but you never know. I hope this helps.

Im camping for the first time at FW in feb, but im from the UK so i don't think i'll be finding it too cold.

thank you! I'm sure it's better than here (Quebec) but I won't take the chance with a baby. Will find another time to go!

March is perfect!! We usually go in jan, feb and march!! But, camping is so perfect, its not too cold, not too hot, just perfect!! I think this is the best month, just go the week before spring break!!!:cool1:

The 1st time we went to Disney World was March 3rd thru 12th, 2002. We tent camped and slept on air mattresses with just regular blankets. The afternoon highs were in the low to upper 80's. At night you will need lightweight jackets. I dont know if this was unusually warm or average weather but throughout our stay there was only one night that it was cold enough to be uncomfortable sleeping. But we didnt have a heater or electric blankets.

Out of the last three years end Feb/ March, only one would have been rough camping. Last year, it was down right freezing at night and we had winter coats, hats and gloves along. However, being from Wisconsin and having camped in the fall it was nothing a good heater or extra blankets couldn't fix.
