Tent camping in June?

We stayed at the Fort back in April 2006 and found that it was the best vacation we've had. So we are planning another trip, but had to schedule our vacation for June 2008. Of course we will be tent camping again, but I keep wondering if I am going to be miserable- though it won't change our plans... LOL. We will be there from the 13-19. So anyone who has been in similar times- how bad is it going to be? We will be taking fans - or we will be taking money to buy a few from Wal Mart or somewhere when we get there... But will it be unbearable at night? I'm not worried about the days- as we will be in the parks for the most part anyways...

I have seen people in tents who cut out a hole for a room air conditioner and set the AC on a plastic egg crate. I guess it worked pretty well. It will be hot and muggy.....

We often camp at the Fort in June, and many tent campers do actually put some sort of air-conditioning in their tents. There are new, portable units available that will let you vent the A/C out thru the zipper door so you don't have to cut a hole in the side of your tent. The engineering concept is the same as a dryer hose & vent. You would just place the hose/vent thingy at the base of the zipper door & zip around it. I've seen them at Sam's Club, Lowes & Home Depot for around $200.00. They are about the size of a 5 gallon water cooler unit - so it might take up a lot of space in a small tent.

At the very least, make sure you have some fans with you (but they won't help with the humidity).

Do a search on the web for a product called the AC Boot. It is a system designed to use a window type AC through a tent window, with the AC staying outdoors, without damaging the tent.
