Hello all- We have stayed at every Disney resort other than Ft. Wilderness. We have tent reservations for October 4-9. So my question is, which loop should we request? Are there any "tent only" loops where we won't hear the generators from the RVs? We are experienced campers (Yellowstone, Rocky Mt. National, etc.), but this will be our first Disney camping experience. Excited but a little nervous!

Should have read a little more before posting. So it sounds like 2000 loop is all tent, so I am guessing that is where we will be. So my new question is- what is something you need for DISNEY camping that you maybe wouldn't take on a normal camping trip? (I already have our magic bands down lol!)

You are correct that 2000 is the Tent/Popup loop. 1500 is also, but it isn't open right now. All sites at the Fort have electric, water and cable, so no generators. All the other site types except Tent/Popup also have sewer.

What to bring? Since you will have electricity, a fan or A/C unit. October will still be hot during the day and may not cool down a lot at night depending on the weather. Camp lights are also great. I see a lot of Christmas or patio lights strung around the site. It makes for a nice atmosphere. Other than that, normal camping stuff to be comfortable.

The 2000 loop is a fair distance from the Outpost (bus stop to the parks and DS) and the Settlement (boat to MK and trading post and restaurant). The Fort has an internal bus system that is pretty good, but some people recommend getting a golf cart (the Fort rents them or you can use an independent off site vendor).

Fort Wilderness camping is "Glamping" so if you're used to tent camping at National Parks with minimal amenities, you are in for a pleasant surprise at WDW.

Tent loops are 1500 and 2000 (2000 open now in these covid times, 1500 currently closed).

PS - Darn, I check in October 10. :(
