Hey,

We have been to Fort Wilderness before but stayed in the cabins. We now have a tent camper and we are are interested in going back to the fort in it.

My wife has concerns over the bus noise. Are there loops that you wouldnt hear the buses as much but still convienient to the pool and campfire?

Any comments or thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks

The Long Family

If you are going for a Partial Hookup(w/e/cable), then you only have 2 loops 1500 & 2000 with 2000 being the most isolated and 1500 putting you close to the pool and the Meadows Trading post.

If you are going for full hook-ups (w/e/s/cable), you could go Preferred (100-300) closest to the Marina or(1600-1900) with 1800 and 1900 being the most secluded. You could be on the back side of 100-300 to be far enough from the bus noise. I really think the back side of most loops would put you away from the main road and the buses.

I looked up the definition of azzhole,,and it had your name next to it. What a surprize!!
Wow , you must have lots of friends.
You said in a previous post, "I know , people like to camp ( not me ) ",,then what the heck are you trolling around here for ????

I believe that 1500 and 2000 loops are designated tent loops, and these would most likely be the least with noise,, however, you can tent camp any loop , it just depends on what you want in amenities/hook ups on the site.
I use to tent camp in my youth,,but my body doesnt allow me the privilege of that anymore.

I hope you have a great time, :thumbsup2

Well Said!

Make it 3!!

Is there some betting pool somewhere we don't know about where this person has some serious $ staked as to how riled up s/he can get the Camping Board today?? If there is, I want in. Pretty sure I can swoop in, bash a bunch of people, be a total tool and rant about things I know nothing about, capitalize random words to try and emphasize some obscure or ridiculous point, hit a bunch of smilies and leave too! pirate:

I guess I should have been a little clearer. We have a pop up camper. We are probably looking for a full hook up. She is just a little concerned over the bus noise. I personally would like to be close to the camp fire and pool.

Bus noise generally isn't a huge problem. Some loops are quieter than others, and hopefully you'll get some more GOOD advice now that the nonsense has died down.

Oh, and please pay no attention to the troll behind the curtain. S/he seems to have crawled back under his/her rock again. :rolleyes1

If you want really quiet request 1800 or 1900. Those 2 loops are far enough from the buses you'll never hear them. if you want to save a few bucks ask for a partial site. Both these loops have bus stops nearby but you can again request to be put further away from them.

Any of the full hookup loops are great for quiet. The bus stop is a good distance away from most sites in those loops. Loop 1600 is closest to the pool and campfire.

Frank, I love you!

My reply to people's comments about staying in a camper is "I would rather know what has been crawling around in my sheets then staying in a motel room where people like you have been crawling around." Some people are just Butts!! Now, I have a pop up and love it!!:goodvibes I will be staying in the full hook up section of FW and I have never been so, I don't have a clue where the quiet section is :confused3 Just going to have a great time!

Then you're best best is the 1500 loop ... it has the 1600 loop on one side and a canal open area on the other. All the loops except the 1800 and 1900 connect to a road where buses run. However, the 1800 and 1900 can be a swamp in wetter conditions. I would shoot for the 1500 and request the back of the loop close to the dog walk.

Completely agree with you about the sheet thing!:crazy2: You will definitely have a great time at the Fort!!

We have a pop-up as well (which we love to travel in) and have reserved a preferred campsite so i am assuming per these board that it's 100 - 300 loop.

Here is a question about quite camping... Does Disney have quite hours? For example are there teen-agers running around at 2 am making noise and carrying on or do the put the ka-bash on that quickly?

i know the place is full of kids and you are always going to have crying kids etc... but i do want to make sure my DS-5 gets some sleep while we are there.

thx.

Heading down the last week of Sept./first week of Oct.

Yes there are quiet hours, although I can't remember exactly what they are at the moment.

We've never had an issue with noise late at night at the Fort. It's just that first launch in the morning that screams, "WAKE UP, YOU'RE AT DISNEY!" :cloud9:

Man, I miss that sound....

having been one of those DS-5s some 30 years ago, I assure you after a day in the park, your dear son will have no trouble sleeping... neither I nor my brother and sister ever did. Neither thunderstorms nor the Archangel Gabriel could wake us from our slumber.
