to phone?
Thanks.

Hi,
The pro's name is Jim McGarry and to reach him you call (407) WDW-PLAY (939-7529). He is a great guy and an excellent instructor. Dee's plays with him daily everytime we go down there. Not sure how much it is, but, I do know he has clinics and lessons.

Hi,

I had a great experience with Jim as well. He teaches at the Contemporary in the morning for the tennis clinics. I was fortunate enough to be the only one who showed up and received 1 1/2 hours of lessons by myself for $ 35.

He tought me to use a spin serve and give up the kick serve that I had been trying to learn. It was a great lesson !

He just was published with a quick tip in Tennis Magazine last month.

The only bad part of the lesson was the condition of the tennis facility at the Contemporary. The courts themselves were in perfect shape. The rest of the facility looked like something of "The Omega Man" movie. Everything was abandoned and desolate.

It appears Disney is trying to privatize the facility and it is struggling to get a vendor in to take it over. The pro shop is closed. I was the only one on the courts at 10:00 am. It is a shame the facility could be a premier spot in Tennis with the some effort and cash.

Also, call Disney Reservations and they will switch you over to sports reservations and they will set you up and take a credit card to guarantee your spot.

Have Fun !

Pat

There are a couple of courts at BWV aren't there? The courts for BC were removed with the addition of BCV I believe, and so I don't think they have any. The map of YC does show one court at that resort. Anyone know of other courts?

OKW has courts, SSR has courts, GF has clay courts (closed at the present time).

To my knowlegde, only the Contemporary has a tennis pro though.

Doc,
The tennis pro will come to you. Dee has his lesson/coaching sessions at OKW.

Just and FYI, Disney has privatized tennis for years. Peter Burwash has/had been doing it for years. And, it does look awful to see the Contemp pro shop empty. Very very sad. Jim's office is in the old wedding trailer behind the shop.
