With the great rates that came out yesterday and airline fares being so low, my husband and I have decided to plan a trip to WDW for Sept. 25 - Oct. 2. I have never been to Florida that time of year and am wondering about heat and humidity.

cervonime,

Welcome to the DIS boards.

I was in WDW last Oct 3-11 and it was in the Mid-80's every day. We had rain on two different occassions. Once in the evening around 7 pm and the other in the morning, which ended by 10 am. I would think the weather would be the same when you're going.

You can't beat the prices that are out there right now. I just wish we could go a week earlier. We're set to be there 10/1-10/4. We are taking DS Trick or Treating at the Magic Kingdom.

Have a great trip.

We went last year at that exact time. Sorry, but it was really hot and humid. It did rain often, too. I think there was one day of comfortable temperatures with low humidity. BUT, I'm from Oklahoma and am used to hot and humid so it didn't bother me at all. (well, maybe not "at all") In fact, I'm going again at the same time this year. Couldn't get DH to go again, so he is graciously (lol) allowing me to go with a friend because of the great rates. My 5 year old son would kill me if he knew where I was going. Think the WDW souvenirs wil give it away, lol?

We have gone late September a few times and sorry - but it has usually been hot and humid - since the crowds are low, you dont wait in line long so it doesnt seem too bad (especially if you take an afternoon break at the pool). We have never had rain too bad- usually once or twice a trip.

Have fun!

We went the same time last year. It was hot and humid and downpoured once day usually in the afternoon. I loved the time of year though. There was no one there! We had a max of a ten minute wait for rides. The most crowded evening was Saturday for spectro and even then we were one of a few in front of Pecos watching the second parade. We loved the time of year so much that we are going the 18-23 this year.

September is still summer in Florida. You get the same heat/humidity/rain showers you get in July or August. However....

The low crowds at the parks make up for the hot weather.

I live in Tampa, and the past few years we haven't gotten a break in the humidity until about October 15th. Even then it's still warm, even warmer in Orlando and moreso in the parks since they're landlocked.

If you go to www.weatherunderground.com and go to the current weather for Orlando, you will find an area that will allow you to review the weather history. It goes back about 7 years, so you can get a pretty good idea how the weather is during your stay.
