I am planning on visiting England & Scotland in late May/early June of next year (I hope). What are the average temperatures during this time period. Do I need to book a hotel that has air conditioning? I am very hot natured and can't stand to be hot. I plan on actually booking rooms in London (Kensington), York, Edinburgh, & Inverness. Thanks so much!!

I'm sure there must be some 'official' figures out there somewhere -but if I had to hazard a guess I would say late May/Early June you're gonna average low to mid 60's in London and you can figure on it being a little cooler as you move north.

So the normal expectation would be that air-con would not be an essential - but if our weather is anything it is unpredictable - don't be surprised to see temps in the 80's and the 50's during your stay. Enjoy!!

Hi, I live 16 miles from Edinburgh. I always say that this is about the best time to visit. Last May was lovely, however you need to be prepared for any weather from cold wet rain to light summer clothes. Layer your clothes and you will be fine. Last year we were at a horse show every weekend in May and most of June and my boys needed sun cream but thats not guaranteed.
You may find the temperatures in hotel rooms are uncomfortably warm, I know we always do.
Have a good trip.

The weather can be quite unpredictable here - I remember there being a flurry of snow in May once. ::yes::
Though generally by May and June things should be not too bad - maybe only need one layer of thermal underwear!:teeth:
