Temps in Anaheim

The weather app on my phone always differentiates between highs near the coast and highs inland. For example, for this Sunday (our first day at the parks) it says, "highs around 76 near the coast to 86 to 91 inland." So what can I expect the temp to be at Disneyland? For Sunday, I'm assuming in the 86 to 91 range?

We stayed in Dana Point (a coastal town south of LA) and drove inland to activities like DL. The temps along the coast were defiantly cooler than inland in Anaheim and LA. I would plan for the higher temps.

Not only that, you can always count on temperatures in the park to be a few degrees hotter than even just the surrounding communities. All that pavement, not much shade, all those bodies... we are going to be there at the same time as you and we are NOT looking forward to that Sunday. :faint:

Good news is that it seems that it will cool down a little after that. Prediction for Sunday according to The Weather Channel is 85° but Monday goes down a little to 82° and Tuesday is only 78°.

My husband just was commenting on that bolded part this weekend. For reference I despise the heat , I just don't process it well and since it was busy and crowded at times the heat seemed worse than it was. The only advice I can offer is use sunblock and re-apply liberally ; take time out to catch a show like Captain EO - Maleficent preview- Aladdin - Mickey and the Magical Map to take a breather. Also the train is a great way to be refreshed. Even if you hate IASW , the air conditioning alone is worth it..LOL.

Sorry, I just do not get that or agree with it. All of the area around DLR has pavement too. There are more trees in the open space of DLR than the surrounding area - especially DL which is of course older and has more mature greenery. Just look at a satellite map and it is easy to see.

Yes, there are more human bodies per square foot than the surrounding area. But there is also a lot more water, general shade, and air conditioning per square foot as well.

We will be there Saturday-Tuesday and coming from AZ and 110+ for the past 3 days the weather in Anaheim is going to be welcomed. Just like the humidity...it's all relative. It’s good to know what to expect, but you should utilize the tips for anyone outside in the late Spring/Summer...drink plenty of water, apply sunscreen, wear a hat, bring an extra dose of patience, and know your limits. It's been there for 60 years and will likely be there for 60 more...you don't have to do everything.

In the Los Angeles area, you always get three forecasts: Coast; Inland; and Valley. DLR is covered by the Inland forecast. So, yes, 86-91.

Thank you all, this helps me know what to expect. While Sunday will definitely be hotter than I'd like it to be (my favorite is the 60-75 range), I was preparing myself a few weeks ago for the possibility of a 90+ or even 100+ trip, so I will take this! We will be at the parks for 5 days from Sunday through Thursday. If the forecast remains as it is, it will be nice to know that every day will be a little bit cooler!

Our last two trips to DL, we hit the October heat waves. In the low 100's---oh, man!!! So this upcoming trip in July will hopefully, and I do say hopefully, be a breeze in comparison :)

Local weather forecasts will typically have coasts, Metro LA/OC (disneyland falls into this), inland, which is further inland than Anaheim, and then valleys, mountains, etc. OC typically is 5-10 degrees cooler than inland, and 5-10 degrees warmer than the coast.

Why don't you use weather channel and look up disneyland specifically?
