Temporarily Locked: Standy Line Open. Boarding Group: Rise of the Resistance *No Spoilers* Thread, Read 1st Post before commenting.

I didn't even know practicing was a thing. I'm going to start trying it today. Is there a particular world clock or something I should be trying to use to manage the seconds? I guess instead of asking that I should stop being lazy and look through the prior 10 pages of notes 🤣
Read Post 1 as shared in the title of the thread. What you need to know is in that single post.

I usually just click the first join button when my phone clock changes to 7am or 1pm and am nearly always successful.

one thing to keep in mind, when practicing, only your name will be preselected while day of, everyone on your Friends and Family list with a park pass reservation for DHS will be preselected, so while practicing, don’t slow yourself down by selecting the ones that will be there.

I did read through that, but I didn't see a particular clock referred to. I wasn't sure if just using my smartwatch for example with the seconds counter would work or if there was a particular world clock. I know I saw some people refer to a world clock on other threads.

Thank you. I was wondering about that. It is been a bit since I was in the parks and I wasn't sure if everybody in my friends and family list would automatically be selected, or if I would have to slow myself down by selecting the other three.

There are very few people on this board who have been unable to get a BG when following the steps in the first post and preferably, practicing. It can happen but it's not often.

We have not ridden yet and I have practiced almost daily for over 6 months but if we're locked out, I refuse to let it ruin our trip. It's one ride out of many so we'll move on and continue to have a great trip!

It might ruin my trip since that is my sole purpose for making this trip to Disney. I will not allow it to ruin the other members of my group but it will be pretty devastating for me if I do not get to ride this at least once. I know that may sound silly to some people but Star Wars has been such a huge part of my life since I was 5 years old and saw ANH in theaters and now that there is this world related to the sci-fi world that I love I have to ride this. I will have every member of our party trying for BG's at 1pm on day one, 7am and 1pm on our second DHS day, and 7am and 1pm on our last DHS day. Hopefully it will work out.

The Atomic Clock & Watch Accuracy Tool app will give you an audible beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beeeeeep as it is counting down to the minutes. Leave this app open in the background on your phone with the audio all the way up and practice using it.

Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for

I hear you! Last summer was our first time riding it and I actually made reservations at DHS for each day of our 3 night trip. Day 1 we got to ride. Day 2 I got a BG but didn’t get to ride because the attraction was down the entire day. Day 3, I did not get a BG.

My family is obsessed with Star Wars. My husband is a member of the 501st and the Rebel legion. We went to every SWW from 2004 until it ended. And Star Wars Celebrations in Orlando. Dh and I were kids when episode 4 came out in theaters. And our oldest grew up seeing Episodes 1, 2, 3 in the theater. And our youngest grew up with Clone Wars as his first Star Wars Movie in a theatre. We even have a vcr tape of the Star Wars Holiday Special about Light Day and the whole Ewok series.

To show that other "how to get a BG..." blogs are not as good as this thread, I tested the refresh method. First unsuccessful practice (and it was even at 1:00, not 7:00).

Here are my tips that have helped me get BG 1,1, and 2. The 2 was when I did it for myself so I was a little annoyed.

On the home page I positioned the join button on so the second one was in the same spot. See how you need to position it on your phone but it should be similar then when the boarding groups open immediately touch join and keep touching the same spot as fast as you can that way when the second page loads you hit join faster than if you were waiting for the page to load.

Here is where the join button is on the second page. Like i said on the first page don't wait for this page to load keep touching the spot from the first page.

This is the final page. After the second page move to the bottom and touch as fast as you can. Don't worry about checking your party. Anyone with a park pass will be auto checked.

I just watch the second hand on my Apple Watch, and use that to have an idea of when the clock in the upper left of my phone will change over to 7:00 (or 1:00). At around 5 seconds before I quit watching and just wait for the time to change. As soon as I see it change I hit join. That has always worked for practice, and I did get a BG the one day I tried back in Feb 2020.

I do this also but on the previous thread someone mentioned they also start tapping their foot to the seconds. I do this now from about 15 seconds before then at 5 seconds I continue tapping and counting down and just start watching the clock in the upper left. Works really well! Lol, who knew my piano teaching would help with BG’s?

Today when I went to practice the AT AT join section for ROTR on my home page wasn’t there. Has this happened to anyone before? I tried refreshing. I closed out the app and opened it back up. This has never happened to me before. I had to go to my plans and then click on virtual quees to even find it. By then it was obviously too late. When I got back out of my plans it then showed up on my home page.

I just looked and the AT AT is still showing on the first page of my app. Will keep looking for it and if it disappears, will report here for sure.

Hope yours comes back soon!

It disappeared from mine one day as well but then it showed back up the next day.

I have a question:
My 25 yo DD was originally ony going to be able to join us for 2 days, so I got her a 2 day ticket and made park reservations for all 5 of our family. Now she is able to go for our whole trip, so I added 2 days to her ticket and booked her park reservations to match the rest of us. When I look at MDE, on the first 2 days, it lists all 5 of us together, ie: "Disney Park Pass, Disney Hollywood Studios, 5 guests". For the 2nd 2 days, she is listed separately ie: "Disney Park Pass, Disney Hollywood Studios, 4 guests"; and then "Disney Park Pass, Disney Hollywood Studios, 1 guest". Will this be a problem when trying to get a boarding group on our 2nd DHS day? Will it automatically join all of us, or just 4? Do you think it's worth a phone call to Disney to get us all listed together, or doesn't it matter? Thanks! We are going in August.

That’s happened to us and my son’s friends. We have AP and they had day tickets. I had to make reservations separate. I know we didn’t get RotR BG that day. But I can’t remember back to December if they showed up when I tried for a BG.

I think if you have her listed in your Family & Friends to manage her plans, then she should be included in your boarding group party, and be selected with the rest of your group because she has a park reservation. But, this is just a guess.

The chat feature on disneyworld.com has been useful for me -- the agents on there have been helpful and knowledgable, so it can't hurt to ask there.

It will be fine. anyone who has their plans managed by you regardless of how it is listed will be included in your BG if they have a park reservation. We have AP's and added 2 special tickets to have some friends join us - listed as 4 and 2 in the plans section. Everyone got in on the BG.
