Or any good alternatives?

I love my temperpedic pillow. I tried the cheaper ones and there was no comparison. I can't stand the idea of spending thousands for a mattress, but they are SO comfortable.

I spent a lot of time in a Relax the Back store buying my sister one of their no gravity chairs for her birthday so had a lot of time to try out the beds. Loved them.

Of course that chair cost about half what a bed does but my sister has had horrible back problems for almost 30 years after a horrible car accident.

I am completely in love with mine! It is super-comfortable and I don't wake up when DH moves around during the night.

This topic comes up every now and then so I will answer again....We HATED ours. It was HOT, and over time (2 years) it became a sort of mush with no memory. We called about replacement because they had a "lifetime" warranty. I think they sent us a measuring device to measure the smush in the mattress. After going round and round with them, we gave up because they clearly weren't going to do anything about our complaint and went out and bought a double sided Shifman mattress. Best decision we ever made. So now the $5k Tempurpedic sits in our guest room and gets used maybe 5 times per year....by whoever stays at our house.

I do use the pillow though...I double stack it with a regular pillow.

If it matters regarding the smush of the mattress, we are not big people.

We absolutely love ours, and we just have the base model. Neither of us are very large people so it didn't make sense to pay extra for a thicker mattress if we weren't going to sink very far anyway. We've had it for about 2 1/2 years and it's as flat as the day it arrived.

Every single one of my children has begged me to buy them one. That's a little out of my price range, though ;)

We have one but it's not tempurpedic. It's a brand we bought at a local furniture store. It has a thick pillowtop that has the tempurpedic type foam. We love ours. I don't wake up with sore muscles in the morning anymore.

I don't own one myself, but I've slept on one before and it was very comfortable. However, it did get a little hot.

I am glad somebody asked this about this mattress. I have often wondered if it would be a good investment with my sore back that flares up about 4 times a year. I am still not sure if I can bite the bullet and buy one BUT if people are complaining that they are hot sleeping on it, then it will probably not be the mattress for me. I am a sweaty sleeper, lol! I still use my window air conditioner and will until the first snow flies!

We got a Cloud Supreme TempurPedic this summer. It was almost $3000. DH was sure he wanted one after suffering from sciatica. Well getting the queen size base upstairs was a trial and a half, if we could do it differently we would get the low profile base...anyway, DH absolutely LOVES it. His back has not given him trouble since.

I think it's just OK. I usually still have to change position several times in the night, but it may just be me and my joints. I have to say, I find it REALLY comfortable when the alarm goes off at 6:11 am!

It was very stiff at first, and they warn you of that. We had the kids stomp around on it some (store's recommendation). But it really took a month or two for it to soften up. If you get one, give it a good two months before deciding to hate it or love it.

We did not find it hot and we do not have central air in our upstairs farmhouse bedroom! We have a window A/C that we run for a few hours when it gets over 90 outside. Then again it could be we are conditioned to the heat and other may still find them to be hot.

We have a memory foam mattress (not Tempurpedic) and we LOVE LOVE LOVE it! My back is so very happy now, I don't wake up sore. It's absolutely the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. I was worried about it sleeping "hot" too but no problems at all. The only negative was the foam smell when it was first delivered, but that disappeared in a couple of days.

I can't say enough good things about this bed. It's a little pathetic how much I love it! ;)

Love our Cloud Supreme, bought it about 2 months ago and it has been wonderful. No issues with being hot - I did ask the salesman about that before we purchased and he claimed that Tempur-pedic changed the mattress a few years ago to fix that issue.

We looked at them when we shopped for our last mattress. We asked the salesman for an honest assessment of them. He said that while a lot of people really seem to like them, they get more returns on Temperpedic than any other type of mattress. He said you either love them or hate them. He said the two biggest complaints about them were that they were hot, and if you liked to roll over as you fell asleep it was difficult because you were in a trough. I'm an exothermic sleeper who likes to roll.... We opted for a "pillow top" Sealy model instead.

We LOVE ours. I think it was worth every penny and would pay more for it if I had to. The first couple of weeks are a little rough, you have to get used to it. After the first couple of weeks it's great.

We got a Simmons super-firm, no pillowtop, then bought a memory foam topper at Amazon. DH says it feels just as comfortable as the Tempurpedic he tried. And if it loses its "squish" after several years, we can replace it for less than $200.
