Hi there - we're leaving for our trip on Saturday (!) and just wondering how cool it will get in the evening. Will we be okay in shorts or should we plan for long pants? Mind you, we're Canadian so we can handle cool weather - we just want to be prepared.

Thanks!

As long as the winds stay down, you'll probably be okay in shorts. I'd pack a pair of long pants just in case. Definitely have a light jacket or hoodie as well. We were there last week, and Sunday, Oct 29, was brutal in the evening. Temps were in the upper 50s, but the wind was COLD! They sold lots of blankets at F! that night.

The nights here have been in the low 60's with daytime highs in the low to mid 80's. It's been a little warmer than we really should be and few weeks ago it was really nice with highs in low 70's and 40's overnight. A cold front is eyeing us up starting this weekend.

Shorts should be mandatory in my opinion.

Unless a cold front comes through, you'll want to wear shorts and shirts.

It just warmed back up here a few days ago- and another cold front might be coming in. Have layers with you. We saw some evening stuff last year, and my wife (who is Canadian is still loves cooler weather) and I both had longs pants, a hoodie, and a windbreaker on- and for Fantasmic we even wore lightweight gloves and a hat. There were some people around us in shorts and T's- and they seemed quite uncomfortable. Be prepared for anything.

As others have mentioned, I find the weather to be variable this time of year. I usually wear a dress or shorts/t-shirt during the day and then bring a packable lightweight down jacket for nighttime that you can squish into your bag.

Unless you're going in the middle of summer, you should always be prepared for cold weather. We were there in March and the forecast didn't look too bad immediately before we left for FL but it changed within days. A couple nights got down into the 40's and with the wind, it was freezing (and we are Canadian as well). Good thing we had packed for it though, based on previous experience. You can always strip down if it's hot, but if it's cold and you have nothing to wear, you're SOL.

Thanks! Are the 30% rain chances mostly a brief shower?

Maybe just wear your cold weather clothing on the plane ride, then pack for warm weather.

We are leaving Saturday too! We are from Ontario, we have a friend down there right now and she says is HOT! Said we only really need to pack one sweater, I'm wearing jeans and a hoodie on the plane and bringing one thin hoodie and the rest capris and tank.

I have been anxiously watching the weather channel forecast since we arrive late Friday night and leave early Tues morning and it has not looked good for any of our days so far. The percentage keeps changing from 20% to 60% for all of our days. Cold rain does not sound fun and I am curious if there is a chance it will change to no rain at all or if we have to assume it going to rain off and on the whole time. :sad2:

Just be sure the pack a sweatshirt weight top if there is a cold front coming thru. Disney makes a killing selling sweatshirts, in the evenings, to people from cold dry climates that do not realize that once the sun goes down 40-50 degrees in 90% humidity can chill you.

I prefer to think of this as "A perfect excuse to buy another Disney sweatshirt!" ;)

If you have a smartphone, I recommend getting a weather app.
It allows you to check the weather forecast for up to 10 (some go 15 days, why??? when they're usually wrong even 5 days out).

From the Midwest, and as others have said, it's not the temp that can be the problem, it is the humidity and the wind after the sun goes down that can get you. I've flown down from a place with ice and snow, and it was much "chillier" at Disney in the 40's/50's than at home in the 20's/30's.

Here now, as of 8pm it's still fairly hot and humid, and tons of people are in the pool. That said, there are people wearing shorts and tank tops right now, and others wearing coats and furry boots, so it seems largely dependent upon what type of weather you're used to!

Layers. We always pack layers. A tank top with a thin hoodie has worked well for us.
If rain is forecasted you’ll want athletic type bottoms that dry quickly.
We were there Oct 28 when it rained most of the night that MK was open until midnight. We wore gym type shorts and a T-shirt with a Columbia rain jacket. Sitting down on Magic Carpets I sat down in a puddle and I was super glad I wore Under Armour gym shorts and not jeans that would be wet and heavy.
