Tell them it's our honeymoon, but don't want to sound like we're 'expecting' anything

How should I tell my resort that it's our honeymoon? I want to call and request a certain area of the lodge for a room, but also wanted to tell them it's our honeymoon. I don't expect anything but wondered if they gave out buttons or something??

Just tell 'em!!;)

It sounds like you are perfectly willing to pay for the things you specifically want and there is nothing wrong with letting them know that you will be on your honeymoon.

There are buttons you can get at Guest Services in any of the parks (these are free).

You can also purchase the bride and groom mouse ears and wear them around in the parks (lots of congratulations and wishes, and maybe some pixie dust).

When you make your ADR's for your dining, let them know that it is your honeymoon too. And remember to say something when you check in for all your reservations (hotel and dining).

Many thanks for the good luck wishes! And thanks for the advice..we shall see. I'm assuming ADR's are reservations but what does that stand for?

ADR's are Advanced Dining Reservations. And yes, definately let them know you are celebrating your honeymoon. You might be pleasantly surprised.

I haven' received our package from Disney yet after booking the trip (it was a gift to us). Do I need to wait until then to make dining reservations? Where do i find the #'s?

We are staying at WL..not sure if there are places I should count on eating at there..?

Are you going in May?

If so, you definitely need to make your dining reservations soon if you have any particular places you want to eat. Most "die hard" planners start making their reservations at 6 months out;)

You can call: 1-407-WDW-DINE (939-3463) to make the reservations

Take a look HERE to see if there are places you want to go.

You might also visit the Restaurants board here to get some ideas.

Definately make ADR because i just called and most places were sold out for april when i go for my planning session.

I also tried booking some places for my wedding week in august. it was more then 6mths out but because i had our resort confirmation # i was able to book a week early.

Le Cellier the agent told me is always sold out by the 6 mth mark and guest go crazy trying to get in there.

Cinderellas royal table was completely booked for 8-31-08 already before the 180 days but they had 1 reservation left and with that one you need to prepay over the phone for your meal.

I just made our Hoop De Doo reservations..2 tables left. Whew! I'm not sure if we are going to plan any other dinners.

Definitely let them know it's your honeymoon! We had it noted on our reservation at the Poly and when we arrived we promptly received a congratulations, the "just married buttons" and were upgraded from Garden View to Lagoon View! If a resort has upgrades to give, it seems that they often give them to honeymooners or anniversary celebrators first.

We did have it noted on our ADR's as well, but we didn't receive any pixie dust there. Lots of couples do though, and wind up getting free dessert and things like that. You never know!
