If you received a gift that you did not want, need or like would you give it to someone else as a gift?
If we're being honest here I have to say yes, I have done it several times. I try to excuse myself by calling it creative Christmas recycling.

Yes, I have no shame in saying i would regift something i got if i didn't wanna keep it. I would however make sure all previous cards were removed from said gift b4 regifting it to somebody else.

I myself just got a "recycled" gift as a weding present. Avery pretty Mikasa frame. Complete with the card from the original gift giver LOL.

I have yet to receive a gift I don't like or have no use for...but if I did I suppose I would give it to someone else as a gift, if I had someone to give it to.

Yes, if I was absolutely sure the original giver would never find out. I would hate to hurt anyone's feelings.

One year I received a lovely book of poetry from my ex sister in law. It was the same one I had given her the year before, inscription and all. I never let on that I noticed.

I could never regift. I don't have a problem with people that do.
I just can't do it.

I don't usually regift, but I do see if someone in my family wants it.

I would have to keep it and find a way to use it. They always ask where is it, why aren't you wearing it, etc, etc.

Nope...can't do it. One shelf in my old closet at my mom's house is still full of wedding gifts we received and won't use/didn't like and we've been married 3 1/2 years.

If you do regift...please be careful. For our wedding, we received a small picture frame and in the box we found a "Happy Secretary's Day" card.

never give a gift t someone that I got and did not like. I have a GF that does that and I find it discusting. I just dont use it, to me that is being cheap and not polite. :D

I think the ONLY time I ever "re-gifted" was after our wedding, 28 years ago. We received EIGHT blankets as gifts. We kept two that we really liked, and put 6 on a shelf in the closet. Since we were "just starting out" and really didn't have much extra money we gave those extra blankets as gifts when we got invited to weddings. I always double-checked our gift registry in our wedding book, to make sure we weren't giving one of the blankets to someone who gave US a blanket for our wedding though!!! :)

I don't recall doing it recently though, or at all since our wedding. If I receive something I don't like/won't or can't use, I just "put it away."

I have, but usually, I try to return the item if I can.

My sister received a silver ice bucket for a wedding gift with $25 worth of quarters in it from our aunt and uncle. Hmm... do you think it could have been a regift since they had their 25th anniversary (silver anniversary) the week before the wedding, and since there were all those quarters that totaled $25 in it?

My sister was just glad that it wasn't monogrammed for my aunt and uncle.

Yes, I've done it before and I would do it again. It's usually something given to me by someone not very close to me and very generic. Like the statue I just received from someone in our department here at work. The gift-giver gave one to just about EVERYONE (must have bought a couple of cases of them) and so it really didn't seem like anything that was specially selected for each person. Thoughtful, though not particularly something I would use or display. I would probably only regift to a person that was not particularly close to me -- sort of as a token gift.

This is one of my favorite ways of saving money!!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

Yes, I have. But I'm real careful what I regift.

By the way, I believe there's going to be a regift exchange after the first of the year for any one interested.
