We found Artist Point at the WL to be quieter and a bit darker. The bar there too...even though Roaring forks is next door. Haven't been to WL since 2003 so maybe this has changed?
Here are some things I would endorse that we found romantic (with price points).
1> You are staying at YC. Perfect. Take a blanket to the beach with plastic glasses full of wine and watch both fireworks from there. Free, or $ (for wine)
2> Victoria and Albert's. $$$, but trust me on this
3> Dessert cruise. $$
4> Getting a pic, kissing on every ride (since you are a Dis vet, you would know which rides snap pics at what intervals). Free
5> Champagne from France. $
On #4, make sure you are sitting next to each other, else it would be a different kind of pic
OP, think you'll love the carriage ride around POR. We were given the option of going over to POFQ or touring POR. Maybe since it's your wedding you might get both.
It was fun and very romantic.
On our last trip, staying at Beach Club, we enjoyed sitting on the beach chairs at the resort (right on the beach by the lake) and watching the Star Wars fireworks at HS. Also enjoyed spending after park evening hours with some ice cream from Beaches and Cream (there is also a new place on Boardwalk) and eating it at an outdoor table. Very relaxing -- love the resorts at night!
I forgot to list Yachtsman Steakhouse in our possibilities! We walked passed it last trip and DF's jaw dropped and he began drooling lol... so I promised him that will be our first meal as a married couple! Glad to hear that someone else enjoyed it! It seems very quiet and romantic
It was very romantic!! And they gave us a seat by the window Our honeymoon was the first time we went there and now we make it a point to go there every trip if we get a date night away from the kiddos!
We honeymoomed at WDW back in 2006 and have so many great memories from the trip. It made my DH love Disney World since it was only his second trip there (first was just one day spent at MK when he was a teenager and not a very good experience due to standing in line for things for his little sister all day).
I suggest getting the bride ears and wearing them. Our travel agent sent a pair of bride ears for me and groom ears for DH to our resort when we checked in. I wore mine all week, poor DHs didn't fit well because he has a huge head but he tried to wear them at least to our meals. We got so much attention and unexpected perks because of them.
One of my favorite memories was in Mickey's Philharmagic. We got in right in front of a group of cheerleaders on a trip. Their chaperones saw our ears and asked us how long we had been married (1 day at that point) and made a huge fuss over us. They wound up getting one of the cast members over and made us stand up while the whole place serenaded us with a song.
We also got picked to participate in the Indiana Jones show, free champagne at most of our dinners, FastPass line access even on rides we didn't have FP for, etc.
It was truly a magical experience. I hope the same for you!
We honeymooned there back in 2001 and we have been going back with our children. We as a couple love Disney and instead of going other places we choose to go here because we have fond memories of use and our families before we met. Now that we have our children we love going with them and that is what makes it even more special seeing it through their eyes for the first time is amazing.
Look out for Mr. Stork
That persevering chap
He'll come along and drop
A bundle in your lap
You may be poor or rich
It doesn't matter which
Millionaires, they get theirs
Like the butcher and the baker
So look out for Mr. Stork
And let me tell you, friend
Don't try to get away
He'll find you in the end
He'll spot you out in China or he'll fly to County Cork
So you better look out for Mr. Stork
Look out for Mr. Stork
He's got you on his list
And when he comes around
It's useless to resist
Remember those quintuplets and the woman in the shoe
Maybe he's got his eye on you
(the opening song of Dumbo for those that don't know)
