We usually stay at the GF and love it, but this year GF was booked for the time we are going (easter week, YIKES!), so our 2nd choice was YC. I have stayed at the BC before, but it was with my sister for a business function. Our stay was short and jam-packed with activities and we really didn't have time to enjoy the amenities of the resort - never saw more than a glance of stormalong bay or even made it over to the Boardwalk. I loved the proximity to EPCOT, but other than that, it just seemed like any other hotel. We have one day set aside for the kids to go swimming at the pool, but other than stormalong bay, what is it you love about the YC/BC that we can look forward to? How is the transportation to MK? I think I am really going to miss being on the monorail!

LOCATION!!!

You're right at the Boardwalk, and a quick walk or short boat ride to both MGM and Epcot.

Transportation to the MK is by bus - it seemed comparable in time and effort to the bus ride from the GF to MGM.

I agree that location is one of the Yacht Club's best points. You are within walking distance to all the restaurants of the Boardwalk, Epcot, and the Swan and Dolphin (try Todd English's new restaurant Bluezoo at the Dolphin) and just a boat ride or walk away from both Epcot and Disney-MGM Studios.

I love the Yacht Club's ship-shiny lobby and, of course, Stormalong Bay. The guestrooms have recently been spiffed up and offer a refreshing nautical theme.

You will, however, have to bus it to the Magic Kingdom, and, yes, I'm with you about missing the monorail. If you really want to stay at a monorail resort maybe you should try the the Polynesian? It is a bit old-fashioned in its way, but I really love it. The rooms are extra large and you can't beat a lagoon view room facing Cinderella's Castle.

Hope this helps!

The location gave us the opportunity to have a different kind of trip. We went to Epcot a lot and planned a lot of our eating there. The first time we stayed at YC (We've been back twice) was the first time we REALLY explored WS, especially the entertainment. My kids love it but didn't realize it.

It is so easy to take a break from Epcot or MGM.

We didn't have any trouble with MK transportation. It is by bus, of course. Unless it was first thing in the morning or after park closing, we often came and went to MK via Epcot. For example, we might walk over and have dinner Epcot, then catch the monorail and spend the evening in MK. Then we'd take the bus home.

We've not stayed at GF, but we have stayed at the Poly and we prefer YC!

Location to Epcot was really the only reason we loved it. Stormalong Bay was always way crowded since they share with the Villas, and the resort itself was nice but nothing special.

Location!!!!!! The location of the Epcot resorts is fantastic for access to 2 parks, great restaurants, night time park shows etc. I also happen to love SAB and love the decor and atmosphere of YC but my main attraction to this resort and all the other Epcot resorts is their can't be beat location.

#1 ... LOCATION! So close to MGM, Epcot, and the Boardwalk.

#2 .... awesome dining options!

#3 .... Stormalong Bay!

Also I love the decor of the rooms at YC. They just seemed cleaner and nicer than any of the other deluxe resorts.

The only negative is the bus ride to and from MK and AK. I really don't like sharing with other resorts, it makes the ride seem soooo long.

Enjoy your stay! :)
