Tell me which resort to try next!

So we are leaving POR tonight. This was our second stay. We loved the resort but HATED the buses! It really impacted our enjoyment of the resort! So I'm looking for some opinions on which resort to try next year! We are opened to all levels. They must have excellent buses! TIA!!!

You probably also want a resort that has boats/monorail/walking too. What parks do you spend the most time at? If it's MK, pick CR, GF, Poly or WL all those have a boat to MK and only WL does not have monorail. If you like Epcot and HS, stay at BWI, BC/YC or Swan/Dolphin. They have boats and walking trails to those two parks. Choose AKL if you like AK. The best resort for buses is probably POP or All-Stars but it isn't convenient to any park, it just has a lot of bus service.

honestly the best bus service we've ever had on property has been at Coronado Springs. I'd probably go with the Poly if it's in the budget or WL so you have more options besides just the bus

We have stayed at the Poly & POR. The buses at POR were a PITA. We loved getting around at the Poly.

Now I'm nervous, too!!! We are CSR lovers & have had zero bus complaints, but during the dates we are able to go there is no availability. We have been leaning towards POR for this stay but this post has me worried! Curious, what exactly were the bus issues?

Stay on the monorail if you hate the buses, that way you eliminate the buses on half of your days. If you spend a lot of time at MK then BLT or the Contemporary. Walking eliminates lots of waiting for buses or even the monorail. A quick 5 minute walk. One of the reasons the Contemporary is my favorite hotel. Location, location, location!

AKL has had the best service of any resort we have stayed at, even thought it's farther out than some other choices. Plus it's an amazing resort.

If you want to avoid buses:

YC/BC is also a good choice since you can walk or take a boat to both Epcot and DHS. (So you only need buses to AK and MK). Poly is also convenient since you can take the boat (or monorail) to the MK and walk to the direct monorail to Epcot.

they went directly to the parks.

these resorts have multiple stops - CBR, POR, SSR, OKW, CSR - all stars

these resorts share with other resorts - Bw, bc, yc, akl/v, polyn, gf, cr, blt
WL
the worst bus transportation are the MK resorts and Epcot resorts - because they share. plus the bus ride from the epcot resorts to MK can be long.

fw has multiple stops and it shares with WL for some of the parks.

wl has direct bus to MK, plus boat.

We just got back last Sunday. We were there Memorial Day week & stayed @ POR. It was the best week of our lives. Our closest stop was the main bus stop, South Depot. We never had an issue going or coming back. Sure after wishes, we hung out in MK for an extra 40 min, had a snack then went to the bus. There was a bit of a line but we didn't wait longer than 20 min. Also, if standing is the issue then wait for the next bus. As far as multiple bus stops, for us it wasn't bad at all.... Have a good trip!

Honestly I'm thinking two rooms at pop or AoA or one room at poly! Depending on the budget. We stayed at pop several times and never had the issue. Last time at POR we stayed out by the north depot so I thought maybe that was the issue so I stayed preferred this time in building 14 same issue. We complained several times and I plan on complaining in the survey they send so hopefully that will help future guests! The resort is awesome the staff is awesome it's just the buses that don't come frequently enough!

We take cabs.......not the cheapest option, I know but it works for us! I simply write out a rough plan per day for our trip and decide where we need to take cabs. I budget that into our trip fund. For us, it is a win-win

Our best experience with the buses was CBR (although it's been quite some time since we've stayed there). AKL and WL follow a close second (for us). With that said, we love the monorail resorts, with the Poly being our favorite. With the Poly, you have the monorail for MK and you're just a 5-7 minute walk from the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail. The Epcot resorts are great for getting to Epcot and DHS, however, the bus transportation everywhere else can be hit or miss (IMO).
