Thinking of trying out the Plaza this trip. We are paying OOP, no dining plan this trip. I would love to hear your opinions, your favorite menu items etc. There are not too many reviews that include the Plaza over on the reviews board. I'm thinking it's because it's not as good a "value" when using TS credits. Thanks so much!!

The rueben is the best I've ever had, and I've had 100s of them. They come with fries or something else, but you'll want the fries, and I think it's $10.50 or so. We did oop and just had a coke and with tip was under $20.

We ate at The Plaza for the first time in June of '09 and loved it. IIRC, I had tuna salad on a croissant--which was to die for good. They make their own potato chips there and my two boys still rave about them.

It's a cute little place to eat. While we were there, the mayor and his wife stopped in to say hello to everyone. They were quite an entertaining pair. ;)

The only downfall that I can think of was the wait for our ADR. It was super-hot and there aren't a lot of shaded spots outside to wait--and I think we waited 45 minutes or so. But all in all, if that's the only bad thing I remember, well, then it wasn't too bad. :)

I second the tuna salad :thumbsup2. I am destined to try the chicken salad when we eat there in May, then afterwards get an ice cream sundae for dessert :goodvibes

The Reuben is amazing. Tomato bisque soup is so good. They have steak fries there. Best at Disney in my opinion. Also, sugar-free butter pecan milkshake. I want to go there for lunch so bad right this second haha.

As stated good Reuben, also good burgers, whatever you choose have a "shake" with it.

All the food is good. The tomato bisque soup is outstanding. But the MILKSHAKES. Oh. My. God. Strawberry especially. Old-fashioned fountain style, with seconds in the metal mixing cup. Seriously, though, we do two trips a year, and the Plaza is on our list every time. Usually for lunch, although we will be on our spring break trip with the college kid next week and we are having dinner there on Sunday night. The menu runs to sandwiches, with one or two salads. They also usually have a "special" meatloaf dinner, which is not on the menu but has been offered every time we have been in there for the last couple of years. And of course, the ice cream. Shakes are our thing, but they do old-fashioned banana splits and sundaes as well. DH loves the place so much that the photo I use on my cellphone is him, straw poised, with a Plaza shake in front of him!:lmao: Have fun! ps-DH just said (insert naughty word)! Don't tell people! What if I want to go twice?!:rotfl:

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in all of WDW. LOVE it. I've never had anything bad there. The soups are incredible. The reubens are fantastic, the club sandwich there ... wow! The philly cheese steaks ... yummmmmmm. My dh likes the burger there pretty well. That is our one restaurant that we have to eat at every time we're there! It's really good. And if you have it in your calorie budget ... the ice cream there is good. I'm not a huge ice cream fan, but I splurged one time and got the banana split with all chocolate ice cream .... ohhhhhhh, so good! In short, anything at The Plaza is my favorite! Have fun eating there - it really is a nice change of pace!

I love the Reuben. Now if they would only bring back the German Potato Salad...

I had the burger and it was very, very good - one of the best, if not the best, I've had at WDW. DH got the veggie and mozzarella sandwich and raved about it.

I've only eaten here twice, but both times had the grilled chicken sandwich - comes with ham and cheese on it - sooooo good! And LOVE the steak fries! Dsis last time had the cheesesteak and said it was really good as well!

We eat at the Plaza every few trips and have always enjoyed it. I love the tuna salad croissant and my husband gets the reuben. My daughter gets the cheese steak - it never looked great to me but she likes it.

But the best part is dessert! The ice cream and shakes are outstanding.

The tomato bisque soup is outstanding!!! It is my favorite tomato soup I have ever had. They also have great sandwiches, burgers, etc. The same waiter we had in 2000 is still there now. We have to say hi to him on every trip and he remembers us every time. :goodvibes

Just wanted to say I've never eaten here until recently. And I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! Chef Ken was amazing! I have a dairy allergy and ordered the Vegetarian Sandwich - Fresh mozzarella, hummus, basil pesto, cucumber, roasted red pepper, tomato, and lettuce on freshly baked focaccia minus the mozzarella. It was so good! Chef Ken even let me have some of the homemade chips AND fries because I couldn't decide. Overall I loved the chips over the fries. My friend had the ruben and it was huge she couldn't finish it even though she wanted too because she said it was so good.

This is one place we eat at every year. We skipped it once and we were mad at ourselves the whole trip!
I usually order the Grilled Chicken sandwich..so yummy! My mom usually gets the Strawberry Chicken salad which she loves too.
We always order Rootbeer Floats for desert. The are the BEST. :lovestruc
Man- now I am hungry....

I get the cheesesteak sandwich sans cheese. :) I'm crazy like that.
It's super yummy. I love the fries.
And IIRC, DH really like their strawberry chicken salad.

Mmmm... Seriously? I had to notice this thread right at dinnertime?

: p~~
