I am trying to get my restaurant itinerary finalized. Its time to make my PS's next week!!
I simply cannot decide between Sci-Fi,Mama Melrose or Brown Derby for a lunch meal.
I've shown my family the menus, and they pretty much split down the middle between Mama Melsrose and Sci Fi.
We've eaten at Sci Fi before, never at Melrose's.

What would you do, and why?

trying the 50's Prime Time Cafe? The Brown Derby and Mama's is more of a sit down dinner/supper place. If your looking for a lunch that is close to what you experienced at Sci-Fi, try the 50's Prime Time. It has old homestyle meals. Pot Roast, Meatloaf, and some wonderful treats for the kids. A PB&J milkshake with
Smores for dessert if Great! Plus the atmosphere is like a Sunday dinner at your parents/grandparents.

P.S. Just make sure you finish your plate or no Gold star for you.

P.P.S. Men no hats at the table, elbows on the table and kids set the table for the adults.

Just a thought on something different.

Love the wood fired pizza and the themeing is great. Many times we have just dropped in around 12:30 without PS and been seated within 10 minute's.Good service and good food.A must do for us when we visit MGM.::yes:: :wave2:

Prime Time Cafe, Hands down. Lots of fun, laughs, and great food too!!

Blessings,
Winnie

Based on your question, I voted for Sci-Fi. Mama Melrose is by far our favorite restaurant at MGM, but since you asked about lunch, I'd say Sci-Fi. It's a fun place, but...in our opinion...a cheeseburger/fries/milk shake type of meal only.
Had you asked about dinner....hands down we would have voted for Mama Melrose!
Have fun no matter what you choose!

Mama Melrose is an absolute must do for us each trip...sometimes more than once. We've been doing this for years. We love having lunch there. It is cool and relaxing and feels a million miles from the park. I don't think we've ever had dinner there but we've probably had lunch 25 or 30 times...yum!

The food is great and the service is wonderful. We ask for Dori or Kevin but every server we've had there has done a great job.

Some of my family's favorites there are the flatbread pizzas, calamari, garden salad, suasage and peppers, pasta diablo.

We enjoy BD very much too but since your family is split between MM and Sci-Fi, I would choose MM.

During our October trip last year we enjoyed BD twice for lunch. Both times we sat outside on the patio and it was absolutely wonderful.

My pick would be Prime Time. We just had lunch there a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. Our server was Topher and he was great and the food was good.
My teens like Sci Fi--for the shakes and atmosphere. I like the food better at Prime Time but both places are fun.

My boys love Sci-fi! It is a must do for us. My dh and I love the Brown Derby. The food is much more upscale. This is also a must do for us. The boys like it but it doesn't have the fun that you get at Sci-fi.

Since you've already done Sci-Fi, I vote for Mama Melrose's. I really like both of them, but I think that a lot of times trying something new is always a lot of fun. Brown Derby is actually my favorite, but it is pretty upscale and, depending how young members in your family are, I don't think it would interets them as much as Mama's or the Sci-Fi.

No 50's Prime Time Cafe on the poll, I am surprised. This is our favorite especially for a late lunch at MGM. The atmosphere is fun, the entrees are huge and there is plenty of variety for every taste. Our favorites are the meatloaf and oriental grilled shrimp salad, plus the wonderful real milkshakes.

vote for 50's Prime time Cafe - we shall certainly be making PS for this place for our trip next year - what a laugh.

50's Prime Time for lunch is great (IMHO) but I like the Brown Derby for their appetizers and salads- which I usually make into a meal on their own.

And depending on when you're going.... it's nice to get into the air conditioning for a break.

Have fun!!

Love the 50's Prime Time, and could have many a "fling" with the PBJ shake! :D

I voted for Mama Melrose's - we haven't been yet, but are really looking forward to trying it in Sept. :) We tried Sci-fi many years ago & didn't care for it. I would maybe go for a restaurant you haven't been to yet for something different. :)
