hello all! planning a quick trip and was wondering if anyone has been in early july or late june? are the crowds less crowded before or after july 4th?
l need your advice all knowing dis-members!
thanks in advance

I've been both before and after July 4th and I've found there isn't much difference. The day of the 4th is really crowded at MK and a little less crowded at the other parks.
Vacations in the summer are usually busy, but we always go in June/July because I teach and have found it very fun. Use fast pass and get to the parks early to do those 'must do' rides and you will still have lots of fun. :earsgirl:

The week after the 4th is less crowded than the week leading up to it. We usually go for 11 days over the 4th (arriving close to it)and notice a pretty sizable difference a few days after. You'll have a great time - it's our favorite time to go.

I've been there both before and after July 4th and didn't notice a significant difference in crowds. I LOVE July and we now plan on going every July for two weeks. We love the summer, even with the heat. We just hit the parks in the AM, and relax at the pool in the PM and back to a park some evenings. It is crowded, hot and lots of long lines, but I wouldn't want it any other way!!

July -

We arrived at the BWI around noon on the 4th last year (rooms were ready!) and after a swim and snack at the pool bar took the boat to EPCOT for the rest of the day. Illuminations (10PM that night) and special fireworks after Illuminations just fantastic. Crowds not too bad - walked right on a few attractions.
Don't forget that the hour are extended in the MK, 11-12PM usually, and there are two Spectromagic parades on some nights. On July 8th E-ride night was from 11Pm-2AM. We had a ball!! Also two showings of Fantasmic at MGM.
We would do July again without hesitation. To us the crowds are part of the magic, and it is aslso nice to know that one can take an afternoon break and still have an evening of fun ahead.
Have a great trip!! Bob

We were there last July (starting on the 17th, I think) and there were hardly any crowds at all! EPCOT and MGM were practically deserted. Fantasyland at MK was the only place we encountered any type of crowd. We stayed at CBR and sometimes had the whole quiet pool completely to ourselves.

We'll be there from July 3-11 this year and can't wait! :sunny:
