I'm debating upon cancelling this ADR and going to cape may instead. We are on the DxDP and I'm so worried since Narc's seems to get so many iffy reviews...I know it's all a matter of opinion but I value the dis'ers opinion the most. We have Yachtsman, Flying Fish, Jiko, California Grill, Brown Derby and CRT for signatures so it's not like we'd be missing a steak or anything by cancelling it.

So with all that babbling I'm just curious to know what you dislike so much about it there? What really puts it on the bottom of the list for so many of ya'll? TIA!

We have been to Narcoosee's twice. We went in '08 just for a regular dinner, and we went in '09 on my birthday. We found the food, service, and atmosphere to be "eh" both times. It wasn't anything horrible, it just wasn't a place that we are eager to go back to.

We love Flying Fish and Citrico's, but Narcoosee's just doesn't do anything for us.

We loved it too! We had a great meal, good service and it was pure magic to watch Wishes from our table while we ate dessert.

I love Narcoossee's and wouldn't even compare buffet table food found at Cape May anywhere close to as good. I've been to both and hands down Narcoossee's.

The only thing I really dislike about Narcoossee's is having to leave. It is a must do and our favorite restaurant at WDW.

It's my least favorite of the dining plan signatures. Many years ago it was nice. Now its meh with average food in a noisy and very casual setting.

At Narcoosees...the scallops are amazing. But unless you order that huge fish (i forgot what it's called) the portions are pretty small. I wouldn't go here for a steak, because they specialize in seafood. It's quite expensive for the amount of food you get, but if you want mediocre sits under a heat lamp seafood than go with Cape May. I find the only think I like about Cape May anymore is the oreo bon bons, and I can't stomach paying 31.99 just to eat those. Narcoosees prosciutto and Caesar romaine salad is amazing though.

I see nothing not to love at Narcoossee's, as even their steak is one of the best on property. Cape May is a buffet - the food quality doesn't compare. This is a better seafood option than Flying Fish, and trails only bluezoo (not on the dining plan) as far as seafood quality from our experience. The restaurant is a bit awkward to navigate given its shape and layout, but the views are beautiful, the service (except one time, i must admit) has always been top notch, and the food is great. The one time it wasn't so good our server kept getting mixed up on who ordered what, and he disappeared after our food arrived which was fine except that we wanted another round of drinks. That can happen almost anywhere though, and to me it was the exception not the rule.

Have you considered Fulton's as another option? Actually - scratch that as I believe they are only on the platinum plan (i think that is what they call it). Fulton's is another good option in general though.

Noisy, indifferent service (on a # of our visits), small portions, poor beer selection, pretty average menu, their signature surf and turf was pretty bad.

Other than that, it's a fine restaurant...

Were it not where it is (with the fireworks view) my guess is that it wouldn't remain open too long. Or at least they'd have to change things a lot.

We had a great experience!...Loved it. I think if you really have been wanting to try it, then do. All restaurants are going to get bad reviews...all a matter of personal opinion. Some people love The Liberty Tree Tavern...personally, I think it's mediocre at best. You just never know :confused3

Happy Planning!

We've eaten there several times and never had a bad experience. It's the place my DH requested for our trip in May.

I agree with Pakey.

Narcoossee's will be blown out of the water by some of the other signatures you're going to. Narcoossee's was just...average. If I wanted average, then I would stick to a 1 TS place. I don't want to pay signature prices for 1 TS quality food.

The service was not signature quality to me either.

So, my issue with it is the 'signature' status. It wasn't up to the par of the other signatures. It was by no means horrible, but for the price, atmosphere, quality of food and quality of service, it's not worth a return visit IMO.

We have been to Narcoossee's several times and have always enjoyed it. We loved the mussels and the scallops. Service was excellent. Everyone needs to base their opinion upon their individual experience. For instance, our two visits to the Yachtsman were really bad and I couldn't believe it.

I don't like that I can't go there tonight for dinner!
Had a great meal there, but it was over a year ago. Awesome mussels! I think the location on the water is lovely.

Perhaps I should elaborate on our prior service.

One meal ,while they were bringing out the entrees, they (the runners)dropped the salmon on the floor. Now accidents can happen and that would have been no problem. But they continued to serve the other 3 entrees and it wasn't until 15 minutes later that the salmon was brought out.

Another time we had not finished our appetizers when they brought out the entrees. They (the runners) actually shoved our appetizer plates aside while they attempted to fit the entrees on the table--a major faux-pas.

Another time we had a server who absolutely ignored our table. We had to flag her down each and every time we wanted anything.

Needless to say, it's been awhile since we've been back to Narcoossee's.

We ate at Narcoossee in September. We had good service. I honestly can't remember our waiter/waitress, but that's how good it was - unobstrusive, everything was anticipated, showed up correctly, etc. The food was good, although it's not the kind of place that is more inventive/creative. I had the whole fish and it was absolutely delicious. I have a hard time finding whole fish in the US - I only see it on maybe 10% of the restaurants we frequent - so I was delighted to find it on the menu at Narcoossee (perhaps it has to do with the fact that we're inland). The kids' meals were also really, really good (I see kids in your siggie, so I'm assuming this info is important) and the service towards them was great (apps out quickly, micky-shaped straws provided without us asking, etc.). To give you an idea of how much they ate, we had to take their dessert to go  Let me tell you, my kids always save room for dessert.

I also stressed my Narcoossee ADR last year and read many reviews of and I think you need to be careful when ordering here. For example, the surf-and-turf gets more bad reviews than good ones. One of our apps was just OK (the duck roll?). Honestly, it was a glorified fried spring roll. Nothing special. So, I can see where the not-so-great reviews come from. I would take note about what people like and see if that's something that appeals to you. As I mentioned, the food is more straightforward - less inventive than some of the other signatures (like Cali Gril). Also, this is a more casual restaurant. I think that's great if you're dining with kids, but perhaps those looking for a more upscale experience may be disappointed. I actually enjoyed the atmosphere. It seemed casual, relaxed. We did not have a window table and were there early (not for Wishes), but still found it enjoyable.

We went to Narcoosees for our anniv. last May. I timed our reservation so that we could see the fireworks. It was noted that it was our anniv. on the reservation.

We were given a table on the upper portion of the restraunt next to the bar and next to a family with a very noisy child whom they let walk around etc. It was about as unromantic as you could get.

Our anniv. was hardly acknowledged by our server. The soup portion was so small my dh laughed. The bread was good. I think I had the scallops and I cant remember what dh had but he was not impressed. I did a full dining report on the dining review board. We tried to strain to see the fireworks from our seats, next to impossible. We didnt feel like leaving the dinner and going outside etc.

For dessert I had the almond cheesecake which was good. They only added some little balloon decoration to it, The server told me dont eat the decoration as it was too hard etc.

After the meal we both felt a little queasy. Lets just say this May we are going to Citricos for our anniversary.
