Tell me this lady is crazy

I am not sure that you can label her crazy (though she may be) but she is wrong. I only wish WDW did something like this.

How do you convince her? You probably can't. I have found that sometimes discussing Disney is like discussing politics or religion. You usually can't change someone's mind and eventually the best thing to do is say "oh well" and move on.

True, very true!:)

It's not even Bonnet. They might be doing a tour there, but Wyndham usually puts people up in mid-range hotel rooms for their el-cheapo tours rather than than the resort itself, all the better to demonstrate how much better the condos are.

I was thinking that it couldn't be BC with the "kids eat free" deal since there's not much of any place to eat there. I was also doubting that Wyndham was offering free WDW tickets for attending a presentation. I haven't seen anything on the TUG boards to indicate that. I bought my Bonnet Creek points on eBay, so I never attended a presentation.

Do you have to be crazy to get this deal? 'cause if you do, my wife will vouch for me. :lmao:

Yeah...obviously a timeshare company would never use deceptive advertising to make people think "eat free" meant actual full meals! They would never stoop so low...:rolleyes1

Oh, I wouldn't be surprised if they offered one or two single-day non-hopper passes. I haven't heard it on TUG eaither, but I've heard of some pretty decent incentives to attend the presentations -- like $400 cash. Some Tuggers do the Wyndham owners updates if the incentive is good enough, although they have no intention of buying anything.

I got my offer through Hilton Honors. I've been offered a few more since we took that one, but we declined.

kids eat free - sounds like Holiday Inn - so might be Orange Lake.

they also next to Disney - AK and AKV.

Curious how many nights she claims to be getting. $300 for one night with tickets and dining sounds about right??

Two years ago we stayed on a Starwood promotion 5 nights and it included 5 nights at the Sheraton Vistana Villages (In a 2 bedroom), 1 meal x4 at Planet Hollywood, 4 x 1 day disney tickets, and 4 x 1 day waterpark tickets. All of this was $500! So there are some decent deals out there!!

We get these offers via email and phone from Bonnet Creek quite often. Friends of ours are owners at Bonnet Creek and the email or message always starts off with XXXX XXXX thought you might be interested in...
Apparently they member ask for names of possible interested parties quite often as part of their marketing.

Several years back (most likely around 2003-2004) , before I was a DVC owner, I received an offer in the mail for a greatly reduced rate at a moderate resort (stayed at POFQ around $59 a night) with 2 free 2 day park hoppers in exchange for taking the tour. That was the only time I had ever heard of this being done.

On a mommies board that I belong to a lady is insisting that she is staying at a Disney resort for a timeshare tour and is only paying around $300 and that includes room free tixs and kids eat free. I've explained in detail that disney doesn't do that. The lady is insistent. I tried to explain that disney doesn't need to offer that to get bodies on tours or to get people to buy in. I explained it like disney has a "if you build it they will come" approach. The only thing I can think of is that she is staying at Bonnet Creek and seems to think it is a disney resort. I can't imagine that Wyndam needs to offer that much to get people to do their tours. I figured I would check with the real experts. TIA.

She might be crazy but for different reasons. ;)

In 2004, I received an offer directly from Disney to stay at Carribean Beach Resort (I think Port Orleans was also an option) for 4 days/3 nights and for 3 day park hoppers for 2 people all for $199. This was NOT a Marriott or Wyndham deal--it was directly through Disney and I actually put a deposit down with CRO. The "catch" was that I would have to take a Saratoga Springs Tour. The deal code was good for 1 year, and I booked by a February 2005 stay.

I had to cancel for work at the last minute, and the CRO MS told me that I was crazy since only a few people are selected for these offers and that she has heard of these offers, but never actually booked one with the code. I guess I was on some list...but I never got this offer again

Yup ditto, received the same offer. I think POFQ was offered at a lesser rate than Carribean Beach (which is what I ended up booking).

There is something out there that sounds like this. I believe the stay is at Silver Laker Resort (or something similar). The timeshare pkg includes a room, a variation of park tix (not a 7-day MYW or anything, more like 3-one day uses), and the kids eat free Orlando card (which is for restaurants in the Orlando area and probably a card you could easily get in those Orlando tourism mailings).
I think if something Disney-specific were being offered again it would be posted somewhere on the DIS boards already.
Can't tell ya for sure she is crazy, but going to guess she doesn't quite have all the information. :rolleyes1
