What are the busiest times of the year to go to Universal? Are the crowds comparable to Disney's? Would President's Weekend be as crowded...as let's say...Thanksgiving?....Spring Breaks?....Christmas? :confused3

On average...with the exception of the holiday periods you mentioned above, the crowds aren't usually as bad at Universal as opposed to Disney. The Disney free dining thing still packs em in.

Now...around the holidays (T-giving, Christmas/NY, Spring Break) the crowds are insane everywhere so keep that in mind.

So...When we go this year during President's Weekend to Universal...we can expect some crowds? We'll be staying on site...So..that will help...I just called to get the prices for that time for Hard Rock and Royal Pacific...So...after everybody in my group takes their vote...I'll be calling to book four rooms. The lady I was talking to also said the AAA discounts wouldn't be available until later on..(as somebody else on the forum had said) We would be arriving late on Wednesday night and departing on President's Day (Monday). I noticed there was a price hike between Wednesday and the rest of the days...Because they expect it to get crowded?

If you're staying onsite, you shouldn't have much to worry about as far as wait times go because of FOTL. It will still be crowded but FOTL will spoil you.

Yes...I've been telling everybody in my group about the benefits of the special line....My husband and I had stayed at the Hard Rock and went to Universal a few years ago and loved it...but, we didn't stay during an exeptionally busy time...I did notice long lines beside us, though... I hope "The Group" appreciates that benefit...:thumbsup2

Oh they will, all you'll have to do is point out he huge line as you walk past them all and point out to your friends "hey see there, they are going to wait an hour or more, we won't wait at all." And that's all it will take. Fast pass is the only way to go.

What about comparing off-season? We'll be there the first week of October. I'm sure HHN bring SOME crowds, but I would think most would be at night with the locals.

During the day, should we expect any long lines?

The crowds should be light for that time of year. The days that HHN is happening, the crowds will start arriving late in the afternoon but during most of the day it should be fine.
