I can't adequately speak to the perfect room location, smoking areas/rooms, or the concierge level, but if you're disneymooning, then I think you've chosen a great resort. It is quiet, at least relative to other resorts; it seems isolated with all the trees and serene beauty; and it possesses enough to do to keep you occupied during your stay--as if you would need that on a disneymoon.
The architecture is stunning, especially the lobby. You can spend quite a few minutes just exploring and admiring the totem poles, spring, and mercantile. For a nice romantic walk in the evening, there is a nature trail that leads off from the bike shop, and a separate paved (well, cement walk) trail that heads over to the Fort Wilderness campground--about a mile one way. Speaking of the bike shop, you can rent bikes and boats at the WL, both from the same area on the water. There are two pools at WL; the main pool is located behind the grand lobby and close to the Roaring Forks grill. There is a moderate water slide in the main pool, as well as a kiddie pool and two hot tubs--all of them are adjacent to the geyser which erupts every hour from something like 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. If you want a bit more intimacy, try the Hidden Springs pool just around the corner at the Villas. It's much smaller but much less crowded, as well, and it also has a hot tub right next to it that sits back just a bit, allowing a little more privacy.
As for food, in addition to Roaring Forks, both Whispering Canyon, a family sit-down eatery, and Artist Point, an upscale restaurant, are located at WL, both adjacent to the lobby. I'm personally not a fan of WC, having received poor service and dour servers both times my family has eaten there. Nor do I think the food is anything other than passable. You will find many posters, however, who would completely disagree with my assessment. To each his own. For my money, and for sheer romantic ambience, you can't beat AP--it's one of WDW's finest. The menu is a bit adventurous (buffalo, salmon, tuna) while still offering a touch of the norm (pork, beef tenderloin, chicken). The prices are fairly steep, then again, it is an upscale dining experience, not the Hoop De Doo Revue (which BTW is nearby in FW!). Service at AP is exemplary, and if you enjoy wine, their list is one of the best on property.
One final note: MK is a short, enjoyable boat ride away, and the buses run quite well and often at WL to get to the other parks. I highly recommend WL. It's an excellent resort I feel sure you would enjoy.
