Tell me! Tell me! How was the TO DIS meet?

I haven't heard anything yet. Who was there? How was the weather? How did everything go? Unfortunately, our whole family are working on Sundays this summer , so we can't make it to the two Ontario DIS meets. So you will all have to fill us in. I hope everything went great.

Well........I was on Centre Island......the weather was wonderful! Lots of sunshine and very warm.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the meet itself, so I can't tell you who was there

I looked and looked and looked, I walked all over that place, and boy is that a <b>big</b> place! I walked until I had blisters on my feet. I gave up at 2:45 and left. I was so disappointed to miss everyone.

Katholyn, we were all very disappointed not to meet you too! I'm sorry you couldn't find us.

As Katholyn said it was a very warm and sunny day!!

We met at the restaurant, then went and found a spot in the shade with some picnic tables. We ate and talked, and went on a few of the rides at Centreville.

I have a couple of pictures posted on the Community Board, and may put up a few more tonight. Unfortunately the most dramatic shot, with the Toronto skyline in the background didn't turn out very well.

It was really nice seeing familiar faces again, and wonderful to meet some new people!!

Hi Canadave! Too bad that your family is working on Sundays - maybe we could have a Saturday meet in the fall. Even better, maybe we could have a meet at one of the Disney character meals that they hold in Niagara Falls. Did someone say they were in November? Anyway, that sounded like fun!

I'm so sorry that we missed you Katholyn. We ended up being there from 12:00 until about 6:00. I'll have you know that we were all travelling around with name tags with both our DIS names and real names which means we got some strange looks - sort of "isn't it nice they let them out of the institution for the day" looks, if you know what I mean. Baboo and her family did us all proud in lime green t-shirts, too. Old Kicker and his family came all the way from Syracuse, which was just great! I think my DD plans to ask them to adopt her some time soon - she really took a liking to Katie.

That is so sad that Katholyn couldn't find everyone I'm glad to hear that so many were there. It sounds like it was a fun day. I think it is SandraC who mentioned about the Disney character meal ,etc. in November. We are hoping to go to it this year. That would be a great place to meet fellow DISers. After the summer, maybe we can start planning for that.
The reason our family is working Sundays is Disney related. We are going to WDW next January, so we (me, DW, DD8 and DD12) are working as a family in our store and a portion of the proceeds go into our 'Disney Fund'. That way we get to spend time together and help pay for our trip. Unfortunately, we have to sacrifice Sunday functions.
