We are staying at POP in September and I have been pouring over the POP threads and I am so excited I could just about burst (but I won't because I don't want to miss my trip)!!!!!

So, tell me something new about POP. A secret little place or an activity or anything! What is the best thing to eat? Have you found a nice quiet path or give me a piece of advice. Or post a pick!

Anything at all!

So excited!!

:yay:  :cool1: :cheer2: :rotfl:

If you're staying in the 70's buildings, look for the bunnies! They're always out at night and don't seem too shy. They'll let you stand and watch them from a short distance away. Actually, you will likely see rabbits anyplace at Pop, but there seems to be a large family of them that lives in the 70's section.

Only other advice I can think of at the moment is to be sure and leave Mousekeeping a daily tip. You're more likely to get "towel animals" left in your room if you do. One dollar per person per day is the recommended amount. We always carry some post-its to write a little note thanking them. I've read other posts saying that people take envelopes along for the same purpose. Either one would work fine.

Oh yeah, if the Hippy Dippy pool is really crowded, try going to the 50's pool. The themeing is cute. The pool is shaped like a giant bowling pin. (I haven't tried any of the other pools.)

Have a great time! Maybe we'll see you there.

Take a moonlit walk along the sidewalk by the lake.
Play a game of Twister.
Watch the CMs do the Twist and the Hustle.

I've been there 3 times:woohoo: ...I am ADDICTED to the Chicken Penne Alfredo w/Breadstick @ the Food Court! The Chicken Ceasar Salad is great too!:thumbsup2

Enjoy...You will love it there!:wizard:

On my last two visits to Pop, the pool has been opened very late. There are no life guards on duty, but they allow people in the pool. After returning from the parks, we go for a nice hot cup of coffee and take a nice refershing dip in the pool. It makes us very relaxed and then we hit the hay.

Also, I like taking a walk around the resort and reading all the facts about the different decades.

I also like the tie dye cheese cake.

However, my favoriate spot at Pop Century is the pool bar. It is a great place to have a beer and enjoy the music. I looking at the shadow boxes in Classic Hall and checking out all the cool stuff at the gift shop.

Thanks everyone! These are great little "insider's tips" and exactly what I was hoping for!

My kids will love looking for bunnies!

I didn't know there was a path by the lake, thanks for that one!

I've heard that chicken is good - most definately on my "must eat" list!

A late night swim sounds like the perfect way to wrap up the day, complete with a drink from the bar!

Keep them coming everyone!

The Nacho's in the food court can count as a snack credit on the dinning plan. We love getting them for a snack after we get back from the parks at night.

The arcade has all the classics in the back, I got the high score on Ms. Pacman last time we were there in March. :cool1:

yummmm.....I love nachos!

I'll have a look at the ms pacman game in sept and see if you are still on there!

If you hear a very loud trumpeting bird call, the Sandhill cranes are there. We literally walked into them while on the lakeside path. They were just standing there and we didn't even see them (they are hard to miss but they didn't mind us silly humans being that close). They could be other places at Disney World but Pop Century is the only place we've seen them while there. they were so close I have a picture of one of them taking up the whole screen and I didn't have to use the zoom feature. I would have loved to see them fly. Beautiful birds.

If you go to Generation Gap Bridge, you can watch the turtles. They're really cute - and they love Cheez-Its.

~ Bunnies and ducks
~ Love the Mom's Dinners, Tues & Wed I think are our favorite, Turkey Dinner, now I'm not a big T-Day fan, but loved this meal
~ Go sit on the bridge in the evening and enjoy the peace & view
~ Path along lake is great, with benches and signs - year and what was happening
~ Walk all over, there is so much to see. I have been twice and have yet to see it all, I just found out there was a Roger Rabbit icon
~ Ice Cream and Sundae counter, not obvious but it's there

Rm 3335 is in the 50's building, on the third floor facing the lake. It has a great view of spaceship earth and is very quiet.

The concierge opens up 7am and they will print your boarding passes and they are very friendly.

The best time to shop in the gift shop is between 6 and 7 am.

There is a ping pong table near the 60's pool. You can buy balls for 50cents at the pool bar.

You can actually walk from POP to CBR, but you have to cross a service access road to do it.

There is a great view of one of the entrances to WDW from the top floors of the 80's building that faces the parking lot.

very cool about the cranes and the turtles! My kids love turtles!

i had no idea there was a ping pong table! we'll have to play a game or two, sounds like fun!

Can you see fireworks from anywhere on site?

My daughter loved playing with the hula hoops outside of the front lobby. They also have buckets of colored sidewalk chalk there for the kids. The CM's can be found drawing cool things on the pavement with the chalk and the kids can just join in and draw or write their name.:)

were do you get the paddles from?

We loved Pop when we stayed in December. We were in a 70s bldg facing the lake, 3rd floor, very quiet, nice!

Loved the Shrimp Lo Mein one night, sooo good!

You can get a box of donuts for one snack credit. Great way for a cheap breakfast for all!

The coffee by itself is terrible but if you make half coffee/half hot chocolate it is actually pretty good.

My girls had hair wraps done one night out by the pool and really liked them. The lady doing them was very nice and friendly.

We went to the arcade early, it was like 6:30 or 7am and had the place to ourselves. It was fun and they got lots of tickets to trade for prizes.

Allyson :)

ooooooooooo:cool1: i cant wait:dance3: im going there over thanksgiving break(20-24) are there any special things at that time?:confused3 Thanks!:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone!

I have to admit that I am afraid of the bad coffee. :scared: I need a cup to get me going in the morning. Adding the hot chocolate is a good idea - thanks for that tip!

Did you do this? I had asked about walking from POP to CBR before our last trip and was told by several others that there was no way to do it. Someone said they tried and weren't able to find a way.
