So this morning I was getting my stuff ready to take to work, and guess what popped through the door..... the new WDW Planning DVD! I showed it to DH and said "oh isn't this exciting" and his reply was "you live for Disney" :rotfl::rotfl:

I of course was quick to defend myself by blaming you lot and saying "there are a lot worse people than me on the DIS!"
:lmao:

DH loves going to WDW but he hasn't got the same passion that I have for it all I don't think. ALthough I have begun brainwashing our DS and DD and I think I am doing a good job so far! ;)

What does your significant other think of your Disney obsession?

:lmao: I wonder when my copy of the dvd will arrive. :confused3 Good for you starting the kids obsession so young. :thumbsup2

My dh called me a Disney Geek the other day. :rotfl2: I suppose there are worse things to be called. ;)

DW and I are as bad as each other, although our love of Disney didn't really kick in until we went to WDW for the first time - and before we went we had convinced ourselves that we were only doing it for the kids.
Quite a few trips (and lord only knows how much money) later and we are the ones trying to plan our next visit while the kids are trying to encourage us to go somewhere else. (Mum and Dad definitely know best in this case I think)

OMG I so wish my DH was interested:banana::banana:

Dont get me wrong he loves it when he gets there but the only thing he was to worry about is putting the cases in the minibus:headache: and believe me thats an effort as I get the usual "What the ..... hell have you got in these", then once were there its always, Paula weres my shaver, Paula have I got any gel:rotfl2::rotfl2:

If I got run over before we went, I swear he wouldnt have a clue where to start, he never knows where we are staying, who we were flying with, he dosnt even remember the dates other than for me writing them in his diary(and I always tell him were going the day before:lmao:)

DD's on the other hand could tell you everything from what estates weve stayed in, to what rides/shows are in each parks - "Thats my girls"

I sooooooo wish he had a littlemore interest, but then again i'd probably get annoyed if he started to interfere, so I suppose he can't win:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

My DH doesn't feel the Disney 'love' either, which means I love him all the more for letting me indulge my Disney obsession. He does, however, love Orlando and (similarly to Paula's DH) loves it when we get there.

About 18 months ago, at a BBQ we had with a few other DISers there, we did a Disney quiz. Just to be clever, Nat and I threw in a question about when our next holiday was. DH got it wrong :rotfl2:

He does get quite annoyed sometimes with the amount of time I spend on the DIS and, on the run up to a holiday, he gets fed up of me starting pretty much every sentence with 'When we're in Disney....' :rotfl:

Having said that, I really am very lucky that he hasn't put his foot down yet and started insisting on going elsewhere, and as the next two years' holidays are already booked, I think I'm pretty safe until 2012 ;)

OMG Joh, I think we must be married to the same man:lmao::lmao:

Think the only difference is Phil know's he's never to mention going anywere else as he values his life too much:worship::worship:

My DH doesn't understand it either but is happy to go along with whatever I say. Our 2 DS's have both been brainwashed from a young age. Joe was 2 on the first trip and now doesn't want to go anywhere else and Owen who is now 2 blows kisses to Mickey et al on the TV and when he sees pictures of him.

A few years ago we were at the LTT at MNSSHP and there was a family there dressed as convicts. DH noticed that the woman was wearing a Mickey shaped badge with her DIS name. I then also clocked it and went over to chat to them (they were American). On their way out our DH's shook hands and comiserated with each other about how much time we spent on the boards :rotfl2:

In 2006 we did a DIS meet at the Rose & Crown. DH said hello and then went and sat down quietly with DS and had a drink and let me get on with talking Disney for the next 2 hours - gotta love him

He is also sick of hearing me say 'I have just priced up this' or 'When we go away' :rotfl2:

my other half is as bad as i am and he takes no encouraging to book another trip, he has a very simple outlook on life in that we are only here for a visit :goodvibes

so as long as funds permit we spend our money on doing the things we like to do and if people think we may be a little disney nuts or addicted then that's their problem, quite frankly it's usually people who haven't been who make negative comments and they don't really know what the're missing :lmao:

this year we are "broadening" from orlando but we're not leaving disney behind ;) i never fancied certain areas of the med until someone mentioned visiting them from a disney ship and then i said oooh yes i'm up for that :woohoo:

Husband not disney obsessed, but he has always enjoyed holidaying in the US.

Took alot of persuasion to get him onsite with free DDP last year, to be honest I never thought he would go for it. People at work were betting how long he would last!

Well I wouldn't say he enjoyed it as much as me and DD but he genuinely enjoyed it - liked the food and the fact it is like escaping to another world.

After seeing the benefits of my planning he understands the benefits of all the time I spend doing it!

Last year I was on my own planning wise, this year has been nice with him and DD suggesting things to do, places to eat.

Don't knock it till you've tried it. TBH not told many people we are going again as i know we will get comments. We already got comments about always holidaying in the US.

Just found out my SIL has been given some money to go away by a relative and he suggested she takes her girls to disney (they are 8, never been) she said no and is looking at booking a beach hol in Egypt. I just feel so sad for my nieces.

DD is already fully brainwashed!

She was happily watching the singalong dvd's we have at weekend - her favourites are the campout one and the beach party one.

She also looks at clips on you tube with me.

It's very infectious!!

I only need to bang on a cd or dig out the holiday dvd to get a trip on the cards...as discovered earlier this week...Hopefully we'll be soon planning a trip for April 2011.

We kinda feel bad for getting into an obsession but as i just posted elsewhere...If it makes you feelgood, WHY NOT!? Loads of people go on the same trips year in and year out...some go Centre Parcs every christmas, some always go and sit by the pool in Spain! And with the cost of holidays nowdays (Searching at the weekend i found a week self catering in Spain for £800!!!!!...And the exchange rate makes things in US far cheaper than the Euro!).

I love the obsession, i've been so excited about a holiday than our trip to Orlando last year. The feeling of driving to the airport was the most excitment ever, i'd go as far as saying it was better than Christmas Eve when i was a child.

So did you take the day off work to sit and watch it? ;)

I don't have a significant other. But I did order an extra copy of the DVD since my 8 year old claimed the original one. At least I am a good parent: training my child to survive and enjoy life in the real World ;)

I fancy a year off Florida next year, and want to do Vegas, LA and San Fran instead . . . DH is refusing to go anywhere other than Florida. He says its my fault for getting him addicted!!!!
