Tell me more about Whispering Canyon & Boma

I'm researching restaurants for possible adrs in May 2007. We want to check out WL while we're there and thought we'd go to Whispering Canyon. Read a thread where it mentioned "shy kids" shouldn't probably not go. Why? Anyone whose been there know why? Also wondering about Boma (we want to check out AKL-our 2nd choice hotel -cheaper for us to stay at the Poly with a family of 5). Personally I'd rathar stay at AKL but thats another thread. Thanks in advance for your information.

Boma tends to be one of those "love it or hate it" restaurants. I contend that even the pickiest of eaters can have a fine meal there. Some folks aren't sympathetic to buffets, which is basically what Boma is ... but it's as far removed from the typical hometown buffet as can be imagined. And being able to check out the AKL is an added plus, too.

I like 'em both ... I prefer Boma, but the rest of the fam leans toward WCC.

Don't worry too much about the "shy" kid in Whispering Canyon. My boys are both somewhat shy depending on the situation, but they loved Whispering Canyon. On our first night, they were really tired and did not choose to participate in the pony races or other antics, and our server was fine with that--no one bugged them.

The other threads also note the restaurant is apparently toning things down because of some guest complaints. We went to Whispering Canyon twice on our last trip because we were staying at Wilderness Lodge; we liked it so much that we're making a special trip over there on our upcoming trip (we're staying at Poly this time around) just for dinner.
