There's on some flash special at a local supermarket chain. $4.99 for a bag with a little over 4 lbs. I haven't had them before, but this seems like a cheap and easy snack or even a meal.

My kids love them - as both a snack or meal. I like a few of them as a snack when they make them. Easy to make. We buy the cheese/pepperoni ones, so can’t speak to any other flavor.

Be careful biting into them. They can give the roof of your mouth a nasty burn.

They are especially tasty when drinking.

or your chest. I bit into one she then cheese exploded from the end, fell on my chest and burned me. I still have the scar.

Theyre a great late night when I am buzzed snack. Or not. Since I got burned. Lol

Wow. Reminds me of the old McDonald's fried pies, which were technically empanadas. Man those things could burn the roof of the mouth where it would feel weird for weeks until it healed.

Be careful on the first bite, they can be like hot lava! Ever had a hot pocket? It's kinda like that but bite size.

I'm back. I microwaved them as per the directions. Waited a few minutes for them to cool down so no hot lava. I guess they're OK, but they're definitely convenient.

As for Hot Pockets, one coworker used to have lunch with a single Hot Pocket every day. I guess that's how he saved money. But those come with a microwave (crisper) sleeve that directly converts microwaves into heat so they don't necessarily have that soggy texture from microwaves directly heating the food.

I have had them exactly once at a bachelorette party. I had consumed lots of adult beverages and was... tipsy and then some. I ate lots of them and insisted the entire time that they did not have meat in them (they did). They were delicious. I will never have them while sober.

IMO, they are much better from an oven or air fryer than from the microwave.

They are gross and delicious in equal measure haha. If you overcook them (which I did by following the directions on the bag) they get dangerously hot and they’re nasty by the time they cool. If you have an air fryer, put them in for 4 mins at 375 and then microwave them for 1 min. The outside will be crispy and the inside will be just warm enough- not mouth searingly hot. And then you will love them, but have the bigger issue that you just got hooked on pure processed junk food... trust me, I speak from experience!

My kids love them. Bake in the oven or toaster oven, they’ll taste better. Just let them cool so that your mouth isn’t burnt.

I see others have already said it, but they’re definitely better in the oven/air fryer

I'm sorry you've managed to live how long and not have a pizza roll? Goodness where have you been living?

These things were part of my childhood, part of my dorm life, part of my college apartment life..

I'd heard of them. They were probably in the refrigerator section of the supermarkets where my parents shopped. However, if it was any kind of frozen pizza (or pizza like) think it would have been Celeste or Stouffers French Bread Pizza.

I have my own childhood to young adulthood memories of food native to California - some of which is now too expensive or gone. See's Candies, Swensen's Ice Cream, etc.

I lived with my parents in college. I didn't really prepare anything myself unless it was dry pasta and jarred sauce. I avoided starving via Top Dog, Fat Slice (75 cents for a huge slice of cheese pizza), and Plantation brand brownies sold in vending machines throughout my campus for maybe 60 cents.

For grad school I mostly stayed at my uncle's house, but I mostly ate there (my grandmother lived with him and cooked) or found something cheap. I don't know how much this means to anyone, but in grad school I'd go to a supermarket near campus and hope that the Colombo's bread truck was there. Sometimes it was so fresh out of the oven (25 miles from the bakery) where it was still warm.

But Totino's Pizza Rolls? Don't recall ever having one. I guess they used to be Jeno's Pizza Rolls? I guess their egg roll like shell isn't a coincidence given who came up with them. It's basically an egg roll filled with a variety of pizza toppings.
