We're thinking of taking a 3 day DC in Jan. We have a 2 year old daughter. How does the daycare work? We're worried about if she won't stay. Do you pay as you use it? How much does it cost? We're also worried because I read that it fills up quick. Do you tip the babysitters?

Any answers would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Let's see....

Dh and I went on a 4-day in September so I'll try to give you some of the big points of interest. But, if you do a search or check back in later pages, you'll find a lot of information on this topic.

- The open house is generally around 1 p.m.

- Cost is $6 per hour

- only crackers and milk/juice are served as there is no way to heat items in the nursery.

- When you arrive and fill out the paperwork, you'll be asked what you "top" choices for reservations are. These are usually, but not always accomodated. They especially try to work with you if you have palo reservations or an excursion planned. They consider these choices reservations unless you are notified otherwise.

- Our son was 9 months old and loved it. There were lots of toys, a disney video playing and a separate room for napping with cribs and playyards.

- There are generally three child care workers at a time overseeing the children.

- You are given a pager in case they need you and if you are on an excursion (Disney sponsored) you simply notify them so that they may contact you if needed.

- Being paranoid first-time parents, there is a double-sided glass where we peered in a few times to check on our boy and found him getting more than adequate care.

- The daycare workers are NOT tipped workers, so we brought along a few Wal-mart cards for those that stood out.

- On our 4-day trip, our son only spent about 6 hours in the nursery -- there were just too many things that we wanted him to see and he LOVED everything so much....we couldn't stand to be away from him. But, he certainly enjoyed the time in the nursery.

Hope this helps!!
