Tell me more about Adventurer's Club

How is this for kids. Would it be suitable for a 13-15 year old or what? Ive never been and from what Ive heard it has alot of adult things going on in there. Just curious as to some more details?:confused3

Green Python I think. I don't remember what was in it though.

No, it had an AC name.
What's the last show called? Maybe it was that.

Well, I know that if my parents had taken me when I was that age, I would have been mortified...honestly, I'd still be mortified if I came with my parents and I'm a 30something! I would say that if you and your kid enjoy together time by watching movies that are nothing but humerous sexual inuendo non-stop...and if both yourself and them have no problem being around alot of people who have had several drinks, then by all means.

There's also the fact that the humor might go right over their heads, and if it doesn't, do you really want to know that they get all the jokes? Also, know that if you do bring them, you'll get ribbed non stop by the cast members saying things like "do your parents always bring you to a bar?"

I'm getting more and more excited about our trip (still 6 mos away, but who's counting). There is so much more to do now than I remember from our honeymoon. Granted, we've been back since then, but those trips were very heavily based in fantasyland. lol. I'm really looking forward to some grown up fun, and the AC sounds great. I'm always up for a fruity drink, or two as well. What's not to like? Thanks for the info!!

My home away from home! (I'm usually there at least twice a week!)

Kungaloosh has Strawberry daiquiri mix, blackberry brandy, Captain Morgan's, and OJ, if I recall correctly.

I also recommend the adventuretini! I don't really remember what goes into it besides peach schnapps and Stoli- I just call it "A bunch of alcohol in a cup!" ;)

We were there in February and one couple brought their 8 year old son in. He became the focus of one of the shows. The kid looked mortified as the CM kept commenting back on what fun things he'd have to tell his class at school and all the new words he'd have to look up. It was funny but I think it really distracting most of the adults there not to mention that the parents were a little to far gone to fully appreciate the mocking of their parental skills.

A mature 13 to 15 yr old might be okay, just expect to have to answer some interesting questions in the following days.

Awesome thanks for the information...

what time does AC finish up? Maybe I should change our Wolfgang Puck reservations to 7:30 instead to get there by 9?

I'd also like to know about the schedule.

What is a normal Saturday night show schedule (show times, club opening and closing, etc)?

Typically:

7:00 Club opens (but if there is a private event, which is not uncommon, could be as late as 9:00).

7:30 - 8:00 First show somewhere in here, I'm rarely there that early. Think it's 7:45 or 7:50, but not 100% sure.

9:20ish Balderdash Cup, best show of the night, begins. Honestly, pays to be there by 9:00, to be "inducted" as a new member first, good way to get into the feel of the place.

12:40 Last show of the night, the Hoopla. Let's out at 1:00, entertainment is done for the night, although main bar remains open. [You specifically mentioned Saturday--on less crowded nights, they will often cancel one of the earlier shows and run the last show of the night closer to 12:05, meaning entertainment done by 12:30.]

1:30 Last Call

2:00 Club closes

thanks for the great information! just curious, though...are Saturdays typically less crowded than other nights?

This is great info. Thank you! Is the club normally open on Sunday nights too?

Thanks for the information - we are going to WDW as a couple for the first time in October (no kids!) and think this looks like something we'd really like to try.

No, more crowded. Thursday through Saturday are crowded, as a general rule.

BTW, Susan C, it's open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Anybody ever go here alone? I've got a solo trip coming up and am thinking about an evening at AC. I've never been to PI though, let alone AC, so not sure how safe/friendly it is for a solo.

I'm pretty sure there was a whole thread on this a few months back, but it's about the most solo-friendly bar you'll ever visit. The actors are paid to be friendly ;) , the servers are also friendly, and the atmosphere just encourages striking up a conversation with the person next to you.

Okay, you all have me wanting to do this on my trip in May. . .I think someone in our group mentioned wanting to go. . .

Darcy I think Friday night is the planned night for AC when we go...I know Randy and I are going Fr night anyway:)
