DH and I are going in August for our 15th anniversary, and I've never heard of this place! I'm looking for some more grown up things to do, since our last trips were very kid-focused. We spent our honeymoon in WDW and haven't had an opportunity to go again, just grown ups until now.

Adventurer's Club sounds like something we might like, but I need more info, like what it's all about, where is it?? We're not huge partiers, but enjoy a night out, and a drink here and there.

Adventurer's Club is at Pleasure Island. The whole place is designed and decorated like a sort of amateur Geographical Society. It looks like the 30's. The evening starts in the bar, right down the stairs, and then there are several other rooms into which guests are invited. Cast members represent maids, butlers, club members and other classic characters. There's a lot of humor (sometimes corny) and a musical show in the library that could be a full cast affair or a solo performance by one cast member. If you can relax, get into the not so subtle humor, and enjoy a little audience participation. You can stay as long as you like to catch all the parts of the show and even see more than one library performance. I know that some people just hang out in the bar and enjoy what goes on out there.

The Comedy Warehouse is also worth a visit. We're not dance club people, so those are our regular stops.

The Adventurer's Club is tough to describe and impossible to picture without going. The humour is a bit on the "adult" side. All I can say is go, plan to spend a couple hours and make sure you order a drink called "Kunglaoosh" with whipped cream.

AC is a DO NOT MISS!!!...one time...and you will be hooked...its a hoot...as is Jellyrolls...the dueling piano bar at the Boardwalk...try them both..

Thanks for the info...what exactly is in a "Kunglaoosh"??? Do I need admission or to pay a cover charge at aC? What about Jellyrolls? We've been to dueling piano bars before, and love those. Adventurer's club sounds like something totally different that we will have to try, though.

To get into AC you have to buy a pass for pleasure island..I think its about $22..that gets you into all the bars...comedy club too...do not make the mistake and buy the cheaper one bar pass....it does not work at AC...

Jellyrolls has a $10 cover I believe...have fun...

Thank you so much for the info! Do I get the pass there, or can it be included in w/our MYW tickets?

It's a really yummy drink (alcohol but you can't taste it) :drinking1 :drinking1 You can get it with or without whipped cream :thumbsup2

I used to have the recipe - I found it on the Disboards a looonnngg time ago but I have no idea where it is. I think I tossed it because there was an ingredient I couldn't find in my liquor store :headache: - some type of blackberry liquer I think.

Anyone have it?

Shouldn't be that hard to find exact amounts with a Google search, but off the top of my head, it has Capt. Morgan, blackberry brandy (I think they use Bols), OJ and strawberry daquiri mix.

Surprised you couldn't find some brand of blackberry brandy in your liquor store, it's not that uncommon. :confused3

Sounds yummy! Before I try to make one, I think I must travel to AC at WDW and try the original.

If you add the 'Water Park Fun & More Option' it will get you admission into all the Pleasure Island clubs.

AC is definitely a not miss!! It's a must every time!

Jump up for Jinkies!!

Kungaloosh!

The Adventurer's Club is one of my top 5 attractions at WDW. Seriously, on my last trip in 2006 with my family (I was only 19 at the time) I went every night, mostly by myself. I could simply not get enough. I'll hopefully be doing the College Program this summer/fall and I'm sure you'll be able to guess what I'll be doing on most of my nights off. Plus I'm 21 now, so I'll finally get to have a Kungaloosh!

Marching along we're Adventurers...

The best club in PI. Keep in mind, however, that you are at WDW. Amimatronics abound even in the adult areas of the parks. Probably the most adult fun you will find at WDW>

I think our biggest regret on our trip was not getting to AC earlier in the evening. I really wanted more than four hours there. Really.

And what's the other signature drink...not the Kungaloosh, but the other one. It's quite tasty too. I think I had a few that night. Just a few.

There's another drink...(?) More info please!!

There's a few--"Baldersmash," "Pamelia's Passion Potion," I know there are more. Unlike the Kungaloosh, they seem to have evolved more over the years, so I don't recall the recipes off-hand. Tend to be fruity. Also, any given night there is a seasonal "signature drink" they are pushing all over the Island.

Kirklandtatu, if you can remember a little more about it, I'd be happy to take a peek at the list of ingredients next time I'm in there.

Speaking of 4 hours...

How much time should a person allow? Should I get there early-ish? When do things get fun/hoppin'?

Thanks!

I would try to get there by 9, the best show starts at like 9:20 or 9:30, and if you are there earlier, you'll be able to take lose yourself in the atmosphere first. Unlike other clubs, AC tends to be more crowded early on--the last show of the night is rarely full.

Re: the green drink, think I recall one with Midori, coconut rum, vodka and...maybe pineapple juice? I will have to do some field research this week (solely for the sake of the DIS Boards of course :lmao: ).
