I don't wnat to sound like a spoiled brat, but once we began to staying at the Poly we have never left. I just changed a res for 4/15 -4/22 from the Poly to the POR Riverside. We just found out that we will be going again in November with sis and family and this is the only way to swing both trips. I think it will be better to take two trips by switching to POR this time than no trip at all. I hope my family is not disappointed because they have grown use to being spoiled by the Poly. It is a surprise trip so I can't really discuss it with them. Reassure me please!!! :)

Where will you be staying in Nov? If I knew I would be staying at the POLY then, I would feel much better at POR in April! I can understand your feelings. DH and I are resort snobs and it would bother me too to not stay at my favorite place. With that said, 2 trips in one year would make it easier!!:thumbsup2

If the only way you'll be able to afford both trips is by staying at POR in April, then just stick with the plan. I'm sure your family will definitely appreciate being able to go on two trips rather than just one.

We will be staying at the Poly for 7 nights and 8 days in November.

Well then that should make it easier on you!!:cool1:
Many people love POR. Try to think of the positives. Boat ride to DtD, 2 theme pools to use, pretty atmosphere, great food court.

IMO, give POR a try.

I know that people have a favorite resort (I'm fond of AKL, BCV & BWV), which hold great memories. Look at the opportunity you have, to not only visit WDW twice this year, but IMO try another resort.

You can receive opinions from everyone on this board, about any of the WDW resorts. But nothing anyone tells you, can replace the information you experience first hand.

For ourself, we like (or I should say, "I like"), to try all the resorts at WDW. Wraped around our stay at the BWV this year, will be our first time at POFQ (the last of the moderates). The bottom line, it's neat to stay at a different resort. And have fond memories of that particular stay.

Rnjoy your stay at POR! :thumbsup2

The family may actually enjoy the change of pace to a new resort. After all, I personally think I should try every resort at least once. . .

I might also add the the POR trip is costing aprox $3100 with dining park hopper and water parks where the Poly was $5600 for the same. Maybe we'll be lucky and get a bounceback for our fall trip? ;)

The POR is really nice and I am sure that your family will enjoy it....we have stayed there a few times and I acually prefer it over some of the deluxe resorts.

We've stayed at the Poly many times as well, also recently at WL, however we've come to love POR and by no means feel slighted when staying there.

Thanks for the pictures. They do make me feel better about the hotel. I think I will still miss the convenience oif the monorail. I think I just need to get over that and be happy we can make two trips this year.:)

Just wanted to add that I totally sympathize with you on this one. I'm planning our trips for 2009 and a DCL cruise in 2010. The only way we can do the DCL cruise and go 2x to WDW in '09 is to stay at a moderate resort. It's hard adjusting to not having the monorail but POFQ is one of our favorite resorts. I've visited POR and the landscaping is so gorgeous it's on par with the Poly! :thumbsup2
