ok this is funny...im becoming a food truck junkie as of late so whenever I can I eat at them...i was just looking on chowhound and I found a post about someone looking for a good corn dog and their favorite is at DL..someone posted that Jonathan Gold, an LA based food critic said that they were made from turkey, not beef...nothing mentions pork though....AND...that as of a week ago they have returned to their larger size corn dogs the way they used to be and they taste better than they have in a long time

no the regular ones at DCA are the same...the difference between DCA and DL is that DCA also sells hot links and cheese corn dog things...i love them too...i wish they would do one that has both the hot dog and the cheese in it...

I watched a video recently (can't recall exactly where) with a disney food service PR guy explaining in an interview that they once changed the recipe for the corn dog batter to make it sophisticated and fancy. They debuted it quietly one day and got more complaints about the corn dogs that day than they ever had about any food item before. They changed it back and continue to use a pre-purchased mix for their batter.

That said, I know nothing about the meat. A previous poster is right about allergies, not to mention no pork for those who do not eat it, being a major reason why they are unlikely to use a mix of meats.

We always get the ones at Corn Dog Castle in DCA. A cheese dog and a hot link dog make me a happy camper.
