Tell me it ain't so.....

I don't feel good - and I need all of you to tell me that it's NOT the flu that I'm coming down with..

It all started the night before last with a terrific headache that would not go away - no matter how many Aleve I took.. Woke up yesterday morning and was very, very sick to my stomach - enough so that I almost called into work.. Throughout the day the nausea continued - as did the headache.. About 10:30 or so last night I was SOOOOOOO sick to my stomach (along with still having the headache) I just shut off the computer and went to bed..

Woke up this morning and I'm STILL sick to my stomach - although the headache isn't quite as bad..

Please tell me that nausea is NOT one of the symptoms of the flu.. I really, really need to know because if it IS the flu I have to quarantine myself upstairs here and stay away from my DH...

Doesn't sound like the flu, C. Ann. Maybe more of a stomach virus?? A couple of major symptoms that would make me think you have the flu would be a high fever and aching all over your body.
Whatever it is, I really hope you feel better soon!! {hugs}

Nausea is not really a symptom of the flu in adults. Some people in my area have have a short lived virus with children throwing up and with the headaches so bad the kids are screaming. Adults were nausteated with terrible headaches.

I was having the same problems and my doctor said it is a virus. Mine lasted almost 2 weeks, While the headaches calmed down considerably, the nausea lingered a long time. Never threw up tho! Thank Goodness!!!

So is this stomach virus something that I should be concerned about passing on to my DH? With all his health problems and being on the oxygen 24/7 I'm terrified of making him sick!

Any chance you could have had a migraine? I get them and I am always sick to my stomach when I have one.

This has the sound of a migraine which on it's own could cause nausea. If you have been overmedicating with Aleve you could be adding to the nausea by irritating your stomach lining. Hope you fell better soon.

CAnn what you described sounds like the beginning of a horrible virus that has been rampant in upstate NY. it starts with the headache, horrible nausea, goes into diarrhea and lasts several days. I lost 10 lbs in a week. After that you feel better for a couple of days but not 100%. Then the real flu symptoms start. head and chest congestion, sneezing, coughing, aches, low grade temp. I pray this is not what you have, but I'd be careful. Get some masks to wear around dh and use the antibacterial gel. Lysol all surfaces around your dh.

This is a rough virus that I've had for over three weeks now. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. If you are only in the first two days of it maybe you would benefit from an antiviral medication. Call your doctor!

Nope - not a migraine.. I'm the "Queen of Migraines" - been suffering from them for years..

I am in upstate NY though so I guess it could be that virus that Lucky4me is speaking of...

Much as I don't like being sick, I'm a million times more concerned for my DH..

My doctor's office is closed - my DH goes to the VA for his health care and today isn't "his day".. (They do everything clinic style there..)

If I get any sicker I'm just going to have to stay upstairs, I guess..

Sorry you are feeling yucky. There is an anti-naseau over the counter medicine. It is called Emetrol, most stores also sell there own version of it. The stuff works great!

i had this last week for 5 days. it's been going around here in MA as well. it did not progress to a flu though, thank god!

i lost 5lbs in 5 days

neither my dh nor my 20m old ds got it though!! another miracle!
