I will be gettiing an annual pass for my up coming 2 trips. I just found out my sister and her family are planning a trip for next spring. I was trying to figure out the best way money wise for her. She has the perpetual more than 2 kid problem.

Anyway, I know the dining plan will save them money and I want to save them money by going with them and booking the room using my annual pass. On our last trip she wanted to stay at POFQ, but I thought CBR would be better, so we put the names in a hat and her 2 yo DD picked out CBR. Hey, it was her kid (such a cutie to pick Aunt Kim's choice :rotfl2: ) So this time I thought we could stay at POFQ with connecting rooms. The three girls would be technically booked with mom and dad, the former 2yo would be 9, so she would still qualify for the trundle. But we would try for connecting rooms and I would have 1 or 2 girls with me. Am I right, if we book 7 nights, I could book 6 nights on my annual pass and 1 night at rack rate to get the dining plan and pay for 8 days on the dining plan. And buy the park tickets seperately. I thought this was the best money saving plan. Am I right?

TIA,
Kim

This won't work for you. If you pay for one night at rack, you will only qualify for the dining plan for this portion of your reservation, not for the nights that you get the AP discount. The dining plan is specifically tied to the nights that you pay rack rate, or AAA discount when booked thru AAA. Booking thru AAA might be your best bet. If I am wrong, please correct me someone.

You should look into this more. I think the dining plan doesn't have anything to do with the AP--you can get a DDE card with your AP and save 20% on most meals. To get the dining with your room, I think you have to purchase MYW tickets. Now with DVC you can get the dining plan with your room without purchasing tickets--what about renting points? Then you would all be together and not worry about your rooms connecting or being close together.

Anyone else have an idea about this???

But, you don't get mousekeeping and that is why I wanted a regular hotel room.

With 3 girls 16, 13 and 9, it wouldn't be a vacation without mousekeeping. We are generous tippers, because we know they deserve it.
