Tell me if DDP is worth it this trip!

I've been going back and forth on whether or not the DDP is worth the $$ for our December trip. My biggest issue is we have to buy a plan for our 3 year old- who basically eats nothing. The restaurants I've booked are as follows:

CRT (we'd pay cash for this one)
Akershus
The Crystal Palace
Le Cellier (requires 2 credits)
Restaurant Marrakesh
Ohana
Donald's Safari Breakfast Buffet at Tusker House
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Liberty Tree Tavern
Chef Mickey

Any opinions? Thanks

Many of those restaurants are buffets or fixed-price meals, so you'll be paying for your 3-year-old to eat regardless. About the only time the dining plan makes sense is when you have children and do a lot of buffets and/or character meals.

Plug in your information at http://www.distripplanner.com/ and take a guess at some quick service options. If you would eat desert with every meal and buy refillable mugs, you might come out ahead.

Good point about paying for my kid anyway. Duh! It may sting less to pay for the DDP upfront instead of paying the check after watching her eat half a waffle..... Sigh

Another way to think about it; you're paying to meet the characters without waiting in line. If that's not your goal, you should consider restaurants where you order off the menu. That way, you can just share your food with your three-year-old and not bother with the dining plan.

For us, it stopped making sense to use the dining plan when our kids were both considered Disney adults. It makes absolutely NO sense to me why Disney determines that after nine years old, kids should automatically be served and charged for an adult portion of food.
