I just spent 2 and half hours driving home through a blizzard, and i can't believe its less than 3 weeks before we head off to Disney!

Now im second guessing all my plans made previously...what do you think?

Day one: Check in / arrival : ADR Dinner at Hoopty Doo Musical Revue

Day 2 : Saturday - all day at Epcot with ADR dinner at Biergarten

Day 3 Sunday Magic Kingdom all day with ADR lunch at Cosmic Rays

Day 4 Monday all day at Hollywood Studios with ADR supper at Sci Fi Dine in Theatre

Day 5 Tuesday Offsite shopping and hanging out with inlaws who live in florida

Day 6 Wednesday Offsite - me and ds go to Universal and hubby and dds go deep sea fishing

Day 7 Thursday Animal Kingdom all day no ADR's; Downtown disney

Day 8 Friday Bouncing Parks - park hopper-ADR Breakfast buffet at 1900 Park Fare-Supercallafragilistic breakfast at the Grand Floridian; a snack (at the time it wasnt on the dining plan so its a quick stop) at Rainforest Cafe in AK - the rest of day is park hopping, then we have the Spirit of Aloha luah that night. .

Day 9 ADR Chef Mickeys breakfast buffet, check out later in pm and head home.

I didnt do any lunch adrs and didnt plan anything for downtown disney, want to have some time to just wing it. We're supposed to go the Garden Grill at some point but i cant remember when :confused3

the thing im questioning is whether i should pre-book the pirate cruise...i just dont know if we have time?

What do you think? Even if i wanted to change anything is it too late? We leave Feb 3rd! :cool1:

I think your plans look fine. And best wishes for day 5 :rotfl2:

Just a couple of things about your ADRs:

I'm guessing the ADR for Cosmic Rays is a typo, since it's a CS?

Just an observation on Day 8. I'm guessing you're planning a few hours inside AK, since you mention a snack at Rainforest Cafe? I wouldn't, unless you're planning on hitting it on your way OUT of the park. Otherwise it would be a lot of backtracking.

DTD: I know you don't have any ADRs made here. WPE or Earl of Sandwich are good for CS, and if you want TS after all, you could try Raglan Road-we really like the place. Fabulous ales too.

As for the pirates cruise...:confused3 You've got a pretty full itinerary already. When were you thinking of fitting it in? Could you perhaps save this for another trip?

My 2 cents for what it's worth... I didn't even look at where you have ADR's booked. Asking other people's input in regards to your vacation who don't know a thing about your family (likes, dislikes, allergies, phobias) is not always the smartest idea.

For example my daughter is terrified of characters in costumes with large heads (except Mickey). Because of that I won't take her to Tusker House, Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, etc... Everyone who knows I'm heading to WDW tells me I have to go there. Um.... actually I won't be. I'm allergic to shellfish, so no I won't be eating at Coral Reef no matter how good you say it is.

I'm guessing this is your first trip and you've spent days and weeks agonizing about making it perfect? You're going to Walt Disney World and you're going to have a great time! Chill on the overplanning ;-)

I'm sure that you meant your post to be reassuring to the OP, not harsh or dismissive at all. But don't you think a newbie might also feel a little bit better about her choices if she has some positive feedback as well? Posts like this (and not always by newbies) occasionally turn up mistakes that the OP has overlooked. Having these pointed out can save time, money and heartache. Just last week a similar post turned up an ADR at DHS that was supposed to have been a F. dining package but was only a regular ADR. But it was caught by someone reading the thread.

All I'm saying is don't be so quick to dismiss these threads. They can be helpful.

It's not being dismissive or harsh - my advice to the OP about "right" choices is to chill out - obviously they put a lot of time in effort in already. No one should go and re-arrange that thoughtful planning at this point. Is it the end of the world if your dining reservation in DHS is not a Fantasmic reserved seating? Not in my books. Do you still get to see Fantasmic? Yep!

What if a bunch of people chime in right now and say "you have to do this, this and this"? It's too late for the OP to get some of those I bet. What does that cause? Disappointment. No one wants that when they're leaving on vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth

I just spent 2 and half hours driving home through a blizzard, and i can't believe its less than 3 weeks before we head off to Disney!

We've had next to nothing here in Ontario too and then BAM! But what are you gonna do? It's Canada! :thumbsup2

Now im second guessing all my plans made previously...what do you think?

Day one: Check in / arrival : ADR Dinner at Hoopty Doo Musical Revue

Haven't been here but I've heard good things. Kids love the show!

Day 2 : Saturday - all day at Epcot with ADR dinner at Biergarten

Sorry, haven't been here either as German food isn't my favourite.

Day 3 Sunday Magic Kingdom all day with ADR lunch at Cosmic Rays

Now here I HAVE been! WE do like this a lot and usually go here at least once while at MK. The food is plentiful, quite tasty and there's something for everyone on the menu. The only challenge is sometimes finding a table, but we usually have one person on scout patrol to get the table and the other in line. It works for us! There is a LOT of seating, it's just a really popular spot.

Day 4 Monday all day at Hollywood Studios with ADR supper at Sci Fi Dine in Theatre

We loved the atmosphere at Sci Fi, the food not so much. Since you asked, I would probably go to 50's Prime Time for dinner and go to Sci Fi for a milk shake or dessert instead. Prime Time is comfort food for sure, again, plentiful and the cast members are really silly and fun.
That being said, either choice for a first time experience, either would be just fine!

Day 5 Tuesday Offsite shopping and hanging out with inlaws who live in florida

I don't know your in-laws so I can't comment! :rotfl2:

Day 6 Wednesday Offsite - me and ds go to Universal and hubby and dds go deep sea fishing

Day 7 Thursday Animal Kingdom all day no ADR's; Downtown disney

For DTD, I recommend Earl of Sandwich. Dang, I love this place! So fresh and tasty! And reasonably priced too. And if you don't stop in at Ghiradelli's for an ice cream sundae, well honey, you are missing out on a big treat!!
T-Rex is a neat place to check out but it's very expensive and LOUD. They will allow you to walk around and check out the SFX though, so you really don't have to get a table and eat anything.

Day 8 Friday Bouncing Parks - park hopper-ADR Breakfast buffet at 1900 Park Fare-Supercallafragilistic breakfast at the Grand Floridian; a snack (at the time it wasnt on the dining plan so its a quick stop) at Rainforest Cafe in AK - the rest of day is park hopping, then we have the Spirit of Aloha luah that night. .

All of that sounds fantastic to me!

Day 9 ADR Chef Mickeys breakfast buffet, check out later in pm and head home.

I haven't been to Chef Mickeys, but again, I've heard good things.

I didnt do any lunch adrs and didnt plan anything for downtown disney, want to have some time to just wing it. We're supposed to go the Garden Grill at some point but i cant remember when :confused3

Honestly, your itinerary sounds great! I wouldn't bother adding the pirate cruise. Don't try to cram in too much or you're going to completely exhaust yourselves. Save it for another time and really enjoy the great things you already have planned. Have fun!

Super itinerary! Sounds like a great time. You asked so here is my 2 cents.....

Day 1 I did hoop dee doo on my honeymoon. Wasn't a fan of the food but it was great fun. Lot of slapstick humour and I recall it being a bit hokey. Is it 2 dining tickets - if so, it's not worth it in my opinion but some people on this board love it so I'll let them chime in.

Day 2 Biergarten is fun too. It's like picnic table dining and a show. I really enjoyed it.

Day3 previous post is correct - cosmic rays is counter service. I wouldn't commit to any counter service location, just eat wherever you are in the park. You can find the same foods in every land at MK.

Day 4 Sci-Fi is one of our favourites. I recommend to everyone who goes.

Day 5 make sure to hit those outlet malls. Coach often hands out a 30% voucher at the door which can be added to the discounts inside. I got a bag for 70% off. I am now convince that's how most of us Canadian girls are getting out coach! LOL.

Day 6 which universal park? Buffer some time as it takes time to get there, park, walk to gates.......I'd buffer an hour of travel if you want to be there for rope drop.

Day 7 sounds like a nice day. DTD is a great evening spot but I also recommend you try Boardwalk in the evening. There are more street entertainers, neat bikes to rent, shops, dining........we fit it in every trip.

Day8 this day seems a bit jammed to me. You will love 1900 Park Fare. It's a lovely breakfast (dinner is even better if you ever go back). Don't know what time your ADRs are but by the time you eat and travel to AK for the rainforest cafe, there isn't much time to hop assuming you will want to get back to the room and change for the Luau. The Luau is wonderful, but have a backup plans the cancel in inclement or cold weather! And pack a sweater for the show. You are outdoors and when the sun goes down it is cool.

Day 9 Chef Mickeys is the perfect way to wrap up a trip. Perhaps beg Mickey to hop in the car with you! at the very least bag up a Mickey waffle that you can stare longingly at on the trip home.........

So I have been the first week of Feb and I caution you to watch the weather the week before and pack accordingly. I've been when shorts and tshirts were fine and then other years where we needed winter coats, gloves and mittens. Fantasmic is really cold some nights! Your countdown is so close. Have a wonderful trip!

Your itinerary looks pretty sound to me! I noticed you don't have a lot of park hopping scheduled, which in my opinion is a very smart move. Hopping is a nice option to have if you need it, but it eats up a LOT of time (especially if using Disney transportation). It took us a few trips to WDW to realize that!

I think everyone has those same fears about their plans when their trip gets closer. At least you have plans. Many people don't. At this point I would focus on your actual touring plans of the parks.

We didn't get much snow this way, just a lot of ice in the morning. I will be going down for just the weekend on Feb.3...

Day 1:Hoop-De-Doo on day 1 sounds like a great way to start the vacation....will put you in a great "fun" frame of mind to start out. Leave lots of time to get there though, if you're not at WL or FW.

Day 2: Biergarten is loads of fun, especially if there are lots of you and you like to have fun and mingle with others (and the food is pretty decent). If you are considering other places to eat at Epcot, LeCellier has truly the best food in all of WDW - every dish is amazingly well prepared - which is why reservations are hard to get.

Day 3: Cosmic Rays doesn't require ADR....but it's another fun spot to eat, with a lot of different choices. Their Kosher options are not so great. If you need peace and quiet at some point, you could eat at Columbia Harbour House, especially in the quieter upstairs area.

Day 4: Sci-Fi Dine In: I agree with other poster....atmosphere is cool, food is seriously overpriced and is often of poor quality and preparation (dried out/overcooked). PrimeTime Cafe has really good quality home-cooking comfort foods (ramped up a bit), with a really fun atmosphere (elbows off the table!) and a really happy vibe! The staff you get there makes a huge difference too.

Day 5 and 6: ??

Day 7: Possible options: AK: Tusker House: VERY loud, but worth eating from their amazing selection of "North American" and African inspired foods - good opportunity to try new foods too. In AK, most of their food seems better quality than in MK. Really unusual variety of foods too! I love their special Tea station. I hope it's still there!
Downtown: Earl Of Sandwich!!!! Rainforest Cafe (VERY loud, but atmosphere might be worth trying, if only once....food is mediocre for the price).
West Side: Wolfgang Puck's: tasty, priced right for the quality you get.

Turkey Legs! Tasty, cheap, good for diabetics; as long as you don't mind finding your own "al fresco" spot to eat.

:thumbsup2

thank you so much everybody youve made me feel better! Im happy with my choices so far but just kind of bummed when i hear what others are doing and that sounds fun too...but i just can't fit it all in i guess!

Some of my listed places arent actually on the dining plan or they may be quick service or whatever, but they were places i definately wanted to try out...i forgot to mention we are also going to T-Rex Cafe. :lmao: All of our lunch and most of our breakfasts are on the fly, as someone mentioned i dont want to waste too much time having to backtrack to a lunch date when we're totally busy somewhere else!

The only thing im feeling kind of sad about is Feb 8, Day 6 i think. We're doing alot of little boy stuff and trying really hard to make this trip really special for my ds's, with no little girly stuff throughout the trip. That day would have been too hard for me to stay onsite...its the birthday of my two little girls who passed away (twins) in 2004. I didnt want to be anywhere near little Disney princesses as i cant...well you know...:guilty:

anyhooooo....thanks again for all your input!
