If you were familiar with the OP's past posting history, most of this thread wouldn't seem so "awful" to you.

Just to clarify, you're saying that the rude post and assumptions on this thread are ok because of the OP's "past posting history?"

So by that rationale...something I say, think or ask today can be judged on what I said several months or years ago? Wow...I've been under a rock I guess. Thank goodness no one assumes what I said and thought when I was a teenager is who I am or what I think today. That might sound like judging me on who I WAS not who I am.

And that this thread supports her previous statements and would not lead me to believe her situation or opinions have changed (except in that there is another child since the first time I recall her posting on a similar topic).

I think that prior postings can give someone an idea into the insight of someone's personality and opinions, but definitely don't qualify to me as "supported evidence."

Thinking of my definition of the term "assumption" indicates lack of evidence. Just my .02

This was what I was referring to when I mentioned how some people on the Budget Board will stalk other threads to research background information and fill in holes to discover the "truth" about posters. It's almost like they keep files on active or regular posters on this board and start jumping down their throats when they don't agree with someone's lifestyle or financial choices.

I've even seen some people here copy/quote posters from completely different threads as their proof, like "Aha! I caught them!". And with the numerous different boards here on the Dis, I see that most often on the Budget Board.

It's almost like they keep files on active or regular posters on this board and start jumping down their throats when they don't agree with someone's lifestyle or financial choices.

I've even seen some people here copy/quote posters from completely different threads as their proof, like "Aha! I caught them!". And with the numerous different boards here on the Dis, I see that most often on the Budget Board.

That is quite interesting that someone would invest that amount of time and effort into someone else's life and posts. I simply don't have the time or interest to do that I guess.

Evidence is "grounds for belief" Insight is "penetrating into the true nature of things." To gain insight, you either need a flash of intuitive understanding, or evidence. Some people here are flashing intuitively (and are, perhaps wrong), but those saying that prior postings are providing evidence are using something other than mere intuition (they may also be wrong, but it wouldn't be without evidence).

I didn't see anything remotely rude. The OP presented her dirty laundry in the forum for all to see. Frankly, I find this launch post rather disgusting. She rather save for this big Disney trip than to feed her young children nutrious meals? If you are scraping for money that bad maybe she should reconsider her budgetary needs.

Again, what one considers rude someone else may not. Personally I've found several that I find rude and offensive, but that is my interpretation.

No researching necessary. Some of us have better memories for details than others.
