Tell me how this wait list situation would work - two part question

We own AKV and are saving those points for a family trip in 2018. I received a transfer of 107 boardwalk points in order to book a room for next April. I currently have a reservation for BW garden studio (total of 107 points), if i wait listed a standard studio, which is 85 points - and it came through - would it just use the BW reservation points?

I have never done a wait list so i don't know if there is a point in making a waitlist where you can select a reservation to be cancelled if it comes through.

The points transferred are April 2017 points -- if the waitlist comes through and i have a balance of 22 points left -- can i bank those points to 2018?

Yes, there is a point in the waitlist that you can tell them to replace a reservation if that waitlist fills.

And yes, you could bank the extra transferred 2017 points into their 2018 UY.

Note that even if you have a waitlist these don't always get filled immediately when a villa becomes available. You may also want to be checking to see if the room comes up for you to book on your own.
